The country welcomes Hong Kong people to participate in national scientific research expeditions in the future

The Chairman of the Organising Committee for the Visit of the Snow Dragon 2, Mr Ma Fung-kwok, said that the public had responded enthusiastically to the bookings, and the bookings for the first two days of the opening of the programme were full, as well as for guided tours by schools and other groups. He hopes that in the future, more national icebreakers will come to Hong Kong to bring more information about Antarctic exploration to Hong Kong, so as to inspire young people in Hong Kong to learn about the country's achievements and have the opportunity to participate in Antarctic exploration.

Ma also said that after negotiating with the government and handling licensing and other matters, a new drone show will be launched in the vicinity of the pier on Wednesday night, with the theme of "Snow Dragon 2" in Antarctica, hoping to become one of the major events in Hong Kong to attract the public to explore the polar regions.

Ho Kin-chung, Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Xuelong 2 Visit, said that officials from the Ministry of Natural Resources of the People's Republic of China visited Hong Kong yesterday, and during the exchange, they welcomed Hong Kong scientists to board the ship with a regular quota and participate in other scientific research such as deep-sea in the future.
