The diameter corresponding to the square number of the wire is one of the tests to measure whether the wire is qualified, and the following is a comparison table of wire specifications and diameters

Table

The wire of the copper core of the regular and qualified product can carry a current of 6-8 amperes in 1 square millimeter, and it is generally safer not to exceed 6 amperes.

Many power cords are 2.5mm2 cords on a daily basis. It is said that the vertical cross-section of the line is 2.5 square millimeters. Generally, it can withstand 15 amps, multiplied by the voltage of 220 volts, that is, it can be connected to 3.3 kilowatts.

Wire load current value specified in the national standard GB4706.1-1992/1998 (partial)

The cross-sectional area of the copper core wire diameter allows for long-term current

2.5 mm2 1.78mm 16A~25A

4 mm2 2.2mm 25~32A

6 mm2 2.78mm 32~40A

The cross-sectional area of the aluminum core wire diameter allows for long-term current

2.5 mm2 1.78mm 13A~20A

4 mm2 2.2mm 20~25A

6 mm2 2.78mm 25~32A

Wire diameter conversion formula

Note: The above conductor diameter refers to the conversion method of BV plastic copper wire:

Knowing the square of the wire, calculate the radius of the wire using the formula for finding the area of a circle:

Number of wires squared (mm²) = pi (3.14) × square of wire radius (mm).

Knowing the square of the wire, the same is true for calculating the wire diameter, such as:

The wire diameter of the 2.5 square wire is: 2.5÷ 3.14 = 0.8, and then the square gives 0.9 mm, so the wire diameter of the 2.5 square wire is: 2×0.9 mm = 1.8 mm.

Knowing the diameter of the wire, calculating the square of the wire is also calculated using the formula for finding the area of a circle:

Square of wire = Pi (3.14) × square of wire diameter/4

The size of the cable is also nominal in terms of squares, and the stranded wire is the sum of the cross-sectional area of each wire.

Formula for calculating the cross-sectional area of the cable:

0.7854 × × strands squared of the radius of the wire in mm

Such as 48 strands (each wire radius 0.2 mm) 1.5 square wires:

0.785 ×(0.2 × 0.2)× 48 = 1.5平方
