It is similar to the butterfly, but slightly larger than the butterfly, with a wingspan of 45-60mm. The back of the body is black, and the head and thorax are covered with white fuzz. The front of the wing is white, the anterior margin of the forewing is black, the apex angle has a triangular black spot, which is connected with the black spot on the outer margin and extends below the Cu2 vein, the subterminal m3 chamber and the Cu2 chamber, and the anterior margin of the hindwing have a black spot each, and the outer margin of the hindwing has a triangular black spot at the end of each vein. Only 2 dark spots are visible on the reverse side of the wings.
It is the same species as the cabbage butterfly, and its habits are also very similar. The host plants are cruciferous plants such as cabbage and rape. Pupae overwinter, multiple generations can occur in a year.
The distribution of oriental butterfly is not as wide as that of butterfly in China, but it can be seen in most parts of the central and eastern regions. From June to October, Kunyu Mountain is commonly found at forest edges, roadsides, wastelands and other environments.
