The cross-strait fishing boat incident has not yet been completely resolved, and the Taiwan authorities not only do not attach importance to this issue, but also in the face of the mainland coast guard's patrol of the waters off Xiamen and Jinjin in accordance with the law, the defense department of the Taiwan authorities even wanted to "take a tough approach" and said to the outside world that they would fire a shooting drill on Shiyu Island, which is only 4 kilometers away from Xiamen, Fujian.
In fact, it is self-evident who the Taiwan military is trying to threaten by its possible excesses.
According to the Taiwan authorities, the Taiwan military will begin to conduct actual combat drills on 2 April in Kinmen Island, Lieyu, Shiyu, and other places. However, the Taiwan military claimed that such a move was just "routine and regular training and shooting, and there was no target."
However, no one actually believed this statement, because Taiwan's "Coast Guard" treated a mainland fishing boat badly and rammed a mainland fishing boat, killing two mainland fishermen. After the incident, the Taiwan authorities, at the mainland's repeated requests, not only did they not work with the mainland to resolve the issue through consultations head-on, such as making the truth public, apologizing and compensating, and holding accountable those responsible for the relevant departments of the Taiwan authorities, but on the contrary, they tried in vain to show their so-called "hard-line attitude" through so-called actual combat shooting exercises. From this point of view, it is very likely that some people in the Taiwan authorities really intend to be stubborn to the end.
However, during such a sensitive period, the defense department of the Taiwan authorities deliberately chose to carry out a so-called live-fire exercise in the waters near Kinmen, where the situation is relatively tense.
In fact, among the so-called exercise areas of the Taiwan authorities, Shiyu is less than 4 kilometers away from the city of Xiamen in Fujian Province on the mainland of the motherland, and it is completely visible to the naked eye. Looking from the direction of Shiyu, the high-rise buildings in Xiamen are clearly visible, and they are completely close at hand.
At that time, the sound of the Taiwan army's live firing can clearly reach the ears of the citizens of Xiamen. Speaking of what is even more dangerous, in the event of an accident, it cannot be ruled out that the bullets or shells fired by the Taiwan military with live ammunition will fall directly into the city of Xiamen, and once this happens, the consequences will be really unimaginable.
In this regard, some relevant experts have also analyzed the dangers that exist. Not only is the two places close to each other, but it is also possible that fishing boats from the mainland will also operate in this area. If the Taiwan military still insists on going its own way and still intends to carry out live firing in this place, how can the safety of fishing boats in the surrounding area be guaranteed?
Since the Taiwan military does not care about the safety of the fishermen, the mainland will certainly do everything in its power to maintain order at sea, so in this regard, many experts on both sides of the strait have already indicated that if the Taiwan military dares to insist on going its own way and shoot in the waters off Xiajin, then the mainland will certainly not sit idly by.

In fact, since this recent series of events, the villagers of Kinmen have experienced the transition between peace and war, and they cherish peace and oppose war even more. Judging from the constant interaction between the mainland of the motherland and the compatriots in Kinmen over the years and the good results they have achieved, the people of Kinmen have made the correct choice between "firing artillery" and "building bridges."
However, the planned behavior of the Taiwan military is completely disregarding the safety of the people in Kinmen, and if it still insists on shooting and stirring up trouble under the nose of the mainland, the final result can only become the target of the public.
Here, I would also like to advise the Taiwan authorities to resolve the vicious collision incident through genuine and sincere consultations as soon as possible, and to make public the truth as soon as possible, admit their mistakes and apologize.
If we can admit our mistakes, apologize, compensate, and hold those responsible accountable as soon as possible, then this matter can still be discussed. After all, the mainland of the motherland does not want to see the situation between the two sides of the strait get out of control or even break out into war because of some incidents, and this does not conform to any interests of the people on both sides of the strait.
However, if the Taiwan authorities vainly attempt to rely on external forces to continue to provoke the mainland and intend to continue to be tough to the end, they will not only be unwilling to take responsibility for the vicious collision of ships, but will also provoke more disputes, will the Taiwan authorities really be able to bear such serious consequences if the mainland of the motherland makes a strong attack?
