At the beginning of the event, Jiang Zhouqi (Luo Jia), a student from the School of Cyberspace Security of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, shared the theme of "The Activities and Development of RustSBI Open Atomic Society in Huake University". According to Luo Jia, at Huazhong University of Science and Technology, RustSBI is a popular domestic open source project, which has held a number of open source workshops and seminars, and has cultivated a group of excellent open source contributors and maintainers.

As for how a novice Xiaobai should make open source contributions, Luo Jia combined her own experience to explain in detail and dismantle the contribution process. Finding a suitable open source project is the first step in open source contributions, Luo Jia suggested that you can find an open source project that suits you by looking for an open source platform (GitHub, Gitee or an open source platform within the school or project team), searching for open source projects and contributions, or participating in open source activities (open source workshops, workshops of major open source conferences, open source sharing meetings, etc.).

Signature verification is one of the important means to prevent malicious attacks, and the Linux kernel has been iterated in several directions. In this event, Wang Yuli, a member of the kernel team of the Deepin community, analyzed the fs-verity technology used to prevent malicious tampering of local files, explained its underlying principles, and discussed the wider application prospects of fs-verity technology.

According to Wang Yuli, fs-verity is a kernel function that is already supported in some file systems, which is used to confirm that the content of files on disk will not change, and creates a hash tree for each protected file, which contains the hash value of each data block in the file. When a file is protected by fs-verity, it is marked as a read-only attribute, and each read operation checks whether the read chunk matches the hash value stored in the tree. If there is no match, the operation fails. In addition, the tree itself can be key-signed to ensure that nothing changes to the file system, i.e., no direct manipulation of the block device or modification of the image file.

Influenced and encouraged by the open source spirit of Linux China's LCTT, the Open Atom Club of Huazhong University of Science and Technology established the HUST openatom Club Translation Team (HCTT). According to Kuang Jianuo, the core leader of the HCTT project, HCTT learns the operation mode of the "Linux China" translation project, and is responsible for translating Linux (especially the Linux kernel) related technologies, information, essays and other content from excellent foreign media.
