The all-new Prado will be available for pre-sale on February 29
According to the plan, the new generation of domestic Prado low-end models will be pre-sold on February 29 and open a small set, and the high-end models will make their debut at the Beijing Auto Show on April 25 and open a big set, and the final launch time is set for mid-July.
The FAW Toyota Prado car was unveiled for the first time during the Guangzhou Auto Show last year, and the shape follows the design of the overseas version of the model, and it is still the traditional square box shape.
The new car is offered with two front faces, the main difference is reflected in the light clusters, one is rectangular and the other is round, which is slightly more classical.
The front face of the all-new Prado does not provide a Toyota bull head logo, but is engraved with the TOYOTA English logo, which is similar to the previous FJ Cruiser style, and has a more hard-core temperament.
From the side of the body, the all-new Prado adopts a waistline design similar to the all-new Lexus GX, with obvious body lines and a sloping A-pillar design that also brings a high degree of recognition.
The length, width and height of the new car are 4920mm/1980mm/1860mm, and the wheelbase is 2850mm. The maximum approach angle is 31 degrees, the maximum departure angle is 22 degrees, the passing angle is 25 degrees, and the ground clearance is 221mm.
The new car is positioned as a mid-to-large SUV, but its size is not large in its class, especially with a wheelbase of 2850 mm, which is about the same as some mid-size SUVs.
As a hardcore off-road vehicle, the rear tailgate of the all-new Prado does not open sideways, nor does it come with the dirt bike's signature "little bag" spare tire.
The interior of the new car will be family-oriented, with a three-spoke multi-function steering wheel, a full LCD instrument cluster, a floating center console, and a mechanical gear knob.
The all-new domestic Prado is based on the same TNGA-F off-road platform as the Lexus GX, with a non-load-bearing body, equipped with off-road functions such as full-time four-wheel drive, transfer case and central differential lock.
In addition, the all-new Prado is also equipped with a wealth of safety features and driver assistance systems, including pre-collision safety system, lane departure warning, blind spot monitoring and other functions to provide drivers with more comprehensive safety protection.
In terms of power, FAW Toyota Prado is equipped with a 2.4T hybrid system with a combined maximum power of 243 kW and a comprehensive peak torque of 630 Nm, and is equipped with an 8-speed automatic manual transmission.
The all-new Prado is designed to have an annual production capacity of 36,000 units, which means that Toyota's expectation for this car is to sell about two or three thousand units per month.
