Speaking at the All-Star launch, James said: "We have a big bunch of great young players who are all playing well on the court and behaving well off the court. But I don't think it's possible to say, 'Okay, this guy is the next façade.'" You have to let it happen naturally.

But in an interview with TNT, coming back to the topic, James said: "I would say Alexander, Edwards, I think after me, Stephen and KD retire, these two kids will probably continue to pass the torch, you know, Alexander and Edwards are very charismatic. Tatum wasn't in my locker room, he was on the eastern side, but he was fine too. And Doncic, you know these young guys are incredible, and I'm looking forward to seeing these guys do their job.

Previously on the future face of the league, Durant mentioned Alexander, Edwards, Booker, Doncic, Maxey and Haliburton, while Curry mentioned Doncic, Alexander and Edwards.

Talking about the previous rumors that the Warriors asked the Lakers to pursue James' trade, James said: This news has not spread very far, because I also heard the news with you, three of the four of you are former NBA players, so you know that sometimes these things are talked about behind closed doors, so you don't know at all. I didn't hear about it at all, and I only found out about it when I saw a reporter report on it.

According to reports, the Warriors are expected to pursue James again this summer, with James currently with the Lakers with the final year of his contract remaining, and James has a player option.
