Recently, it was reported that BYD will start a new round of price war after the Spring Festival, and the two main models BYD Qin PLUS and Destroyer 05 will soon launch a new model "Glory Edition", with an official guide price of 79,800 yuan. As of press time, BYD has not officially released confirmation information for this news.
At present, the starting price of the BYD Qin PLUS on sale is 99,800 yuan, and the starting price of the destroyer 05 is 101,800 yuan. Some sources speculate that the Honor Edition model may use fabric seats and adjust some configurations, and then lower the starting price.
Why, are the two models BYD Qin PLUS and Destroyer 05?
The BYD Qin PLUS is a compact sedan with a price range of 99,800-179,800 yuan. The BYD Qin PLUS is available in DM-i plug-in hybrid version and EV pure electric version, the plug-in hybrid version is equipped with a 1.5L engine with a maximum power of 110 horsepower, an electric motor with a maximum power of 180 horsepower, and the transmission system is matched with an E-CVT transmission, and the NEDC pure electric range is 55 and 120 km. The Honor Edition model will be launched this time, or the DM-i plug-in hybrid model.
According to the data, in 2023, the cumulative sales of Qin PLUS will reach 455,800 units, surpassing the "Shuangyi" by about 100,000 units, and winning the annual sales championship of the A-class car market for the first time. In January 2024, although Qin PLUS also achieved monthly sales of 29,244 units, it still lost to Volkswagen Lavida and Nissan Sylphy, so its sales ranking in the segment fell by 3 places.
The BYD Destroyer 05 is positioned as a compact sedan, with a price range of 101,800-157,800 yuan. The car is only available for plug-in hybrid DM-i models, equipped with a 1.5L engine with a maximum power of 110 horsepower, an electric motor with a maximum power of 180 horsepower, and the transmission system is matched with an E-CVT transmission, and the CLTC pure electric range is 55 and 120 km.
As of January 2024, the monthly sales of the Destroyer 05 will be 6,499 units, and the cumulative sales volume in 2023 will be 85,806 units, ranking 23rd in the monthly sales of A-class sedans, and the overall market performance is mediocre. In November, the destroyer 05 launched a year-end preferential promotion of "2000 yuan to 7000 yuan car purchase" (excluding 120KM luxury model).
