Liu Guoxing is a native of Dun Village, Caoxing Village, Chong'an County, Fujian Province. His father was the chairman of the Township Peasant Association, his mother was the Minister of Women of the District Soviets, and both of his parents died heroically in the agrarian revolutionary war. He was the head of the Children's Regiment in 1931, joined the regiment in 1932, and joined the Red Army in May 1934 ...

After the Long March, the main force of the Red Army, Liu Guoxing persisted in guerrilla warfare in northern Fujian for three years. In October 1937, he became a member of the Communist Party of China.

刘国兴(1920 — 1992)

In January 1941, Liu Guoxing successfully broke through and arrived in Jiangbei during the Southern Anhui Incident. In May, he served as the instructor of the 3rd Company of the 1st Battalion of the 56th Regiment of the 19th Brigade of the 7th Division of the New Fourth Army, the head of the Organization Unit of the Political Department of the 57th Regiment, the acting director of the Political Department, and the instructor of the 1st Battalion. In December 1943, he served as the political commissar of the Independent Regiment of the Southern Anhui Detachment of the Seventh Division of the New Fourth Army and the political commissar of the Linjiang Regiment.

In September 1945, he went to the Northeast Cadre Corps as political commissar. In December, he was transferred to the deputy director of the Political Department of the 23rd Regiment of the 8th Division of the Shandong Field Army. In 1947, he served as the chief of the Organization Section of the 21st Division of the Seventh Column of the East China Field Army and the deputy political commissar of the 63rd Regiment. In June 1949, he served as the political commissar of the 3rd Brigade of the Fujian Southward Service Group of the East China Military Region, and the director of the Second Department of the Fujian People's Revolutionary University.
