10, "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" series
Similar to the Moonlight Panic series, 1974's The Texas Chainsaw Massacre was also a low-budget horror film. However, the film's extreme realism and gore are markedly different from its contemporary counterparts. The series begins with an in-depth look at the backstory of the Sawyer family and their murderous atrocities in Texas.
