In 1988, at the beginning of the establishment of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Suzhou University, the Department of Nephrology was opened, which was merged with the Department of Rheumatology and the Department of Endocrinology. Since 2003, the Department of Nephrology has developed rapidly.
At present, there are 63 fixed beds in the wards of the department, with an annual outpatient volume of about 50,000 and nearly 3,000 discharges.
