Civil aviation passenger traffic is expected to hit a new high

"During this year's Spring Festival, the civil aviation passenger traffic is expected to exceed 80 million. This is the information revealed by Cui Xiaofeng, member of the Party Leadership Group and deputy director of the Civil Aviation Administration of China, at the launch ceremony of the 2024 "New Year Walk to the Grassroots" activity and the release ceremony of the ten reminders of "Safe and Civilized Travel".

According to the data, in 2019, the passenger volume of the Spring Festival of civil aviation in mainland China was 72.88 million. Cui Xiaofeng said that during the Spring Festival this year, the daily average of civil aviation passenger traffic will be more than 2 million, which is expected to hit a record high.

According to data from the Civil Aviation Administration, in the first three days of the Spring Festival this year, civil aviation has transported a total of 6.1185 million passengers, with a daily average of 2.04 million passengers, an increase of 20.47% over 2019 and basically double the same period in 2023.

Cui Xiaofeng also revealed that the popular routes are mainly concentrated in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei, Yangtze River Delta, Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao, Chengdu-Chongqing four major urban agglomerations, the top ten airports will exceed 60% of the total number of flights, and the distribution effect is obvious.

To this end, the Civil Aviation Authority is increasing the frequency of flights according to the situation. As of January 26, the Civil Aviation Administration of China has approved 4,282 overtime flights on domestic routes according to market conditions on the basis of the planned 685,100 domestic scheduled passenger flights.

In addition, outbound travel will also usher in a small peak during the Spring Festival, especially in neighboring countries, such as Japan, South Korea, Southeast Asia, etc. Cui Xiaofeng said that to this end, the Civil Aviation Administration of China will continue to promote the acceleration of international passenger flights to ensure the demand for passenger travel.

Daxing Airport service emergency is in place

Relevant data show that the passenger flow of Daxing Airport during the Spring Festival this year is mainly for visiting relatives and traveling, and the passenger flow has increased significantly. Domestic passenger flow is concentrated in traditional hot spots such as South China, East China, and Southwest China, such as Sanya, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Shanghai, Hangzhou, Chengdu, and Kunming.
