The dust of history - rambling about the Diamond Sutra

Let me tell you a story.

A long, long time ago, the Buddha took a large group of disciples to a rich man's private garden to rest in the air.

At that time, the Buddha had just returned from going door-to-door in the city to ask for food.

After eating, he burped, bathed his feet, patted the mat softly, sat down on the spot and began to talk nonsense with his apprentice.

Just as he was in a good position, suddenly an apprentice named Su Bodhi raised his hand, ran directly to the Buddha and said:

Teacher, I have always admired your lectures to death. I didn't understand it, but I was blown away. Which one is open!

But lately, I've felt like I've been stuck in my braincase.

Why is it that the more I experience and feel, the more confused and hesitant I become, unable to control the troubles and desires that come from nowhere, and not knowing where I should go?

The Buddha was very happy when he heard it--------- Alas, Su Bodhi, your baby is willing to use his brains and ask a straight question.

I did let you practice in your life, but what should you cultivate? Since you are sincerely asking, I will tell you a good thing today.

Su Bodhi said Great, teacher, I'm listening carefully, you are slowly bragging.

The Buddha said, "Subodhi, let me tell you, all the living beings in this world, no matter what they are, as long as there is life, I can help them solve their problems and attain nirvana."

However, although it seems that I have transformed countless sentient beings, in fact I know that I have not been enlightened by any of them.

Do you know what happened to Su Bodhi?

Subodhi shook his head blankly............

If you are obsessed with detachment or not, if you think that detachment is different from others, and if you think that the various states of sentient beings are really different, then you still haven't really understood it.

Let's be clearer, what are you practicing for? Is it to show that you are awesome? Is it to get wine and wealth? Or even to get the love of fans?

I'm telling you to understand that none of this makes sense! because they're going to pass away.

But precisely because life does not stand still, and everything points to the end of the void sooner or later, there is no need to lose.

If you should meet it, you can meet it, you can enjoy it, and you can enjoy it.

Subodhi was stunned when he heard this............

Seeing that he looked dumbfounded and stupid, the Buddha patiently gave him an example:

Subodhi, can you touch the essence of life?

No, teacher, I don't have you to do it. I can't see or touch anything.

Because the essence of life is nothingness itself, because the world we live in is an illusion.

Su Bodhi was a little hesitant, master, I believe this very much, but can those people outside believe it after hearing it, will they think that we are engaged in pyramid schemes and selling chicken soup?

The Buddha said, you worry about getting multiple hammers.

Don't talk about these people outside, it will be the same after hundreds of thousands of years, and those who understand will naturally understand when they see it!

What do you think they taught them because of me?

No, it's because they've long understood it through their own experiences and encounters. When you hear these words, you can let go of what I said.

Why? Because the truth is understood, it can be put down.

Just like crossing a river, you have to build a bamboo raft to row across the river. Now that you've reached the other side, what are you doing with that bamboo raft?

Of course, this river does not exist in the first place, but there is a river in your heart. So it's okay to get by.

Subodhi listened and continued to look confused............

The Buddha went on to say, "Subodhi, you are so annoyed." I ask you, I have been talking to you for a long time, am I teaching you the essence and true meaning of life?

Su Bodhi waved his hand and said, no, no, master, you didn't teach anything...... You...... Taught?......

It's not necessarily a long time to say it in vain?

The Buddha asked Subodhi and said that because there is no definite law in life, there is no definite law to teach.

All the exploration of the real law is to destroy it, and only with different degrees of depth will there be differences in appearance.

The so-called Dharma means that there is no Dharma.

Let me ask you again, if you understand this, will you be awesome, you will understand the Dharma, and you will understand the true meaning of life!?

Subodhi said...... No...... Teacher...... Yes Yes Yes ...... Is it because there has never been a Dharma, and there is no essence and meaning in life?

So in fact, I am still me, the world is still the world, life is still life, all beings are still beings, everything has changed, and everything has not changed, because the world is an illusion, so there is no reality............

Su Bodhi cried when he talked about it, and he cried until his nose and tears crawled.

The Buddha sighed, Su Bodhi, don't cry and recite tongue twisters to me, make trouble.

You've actually basically figured it out, and it's a good thing to understand it.

Why is this happening? It's all because all ordinary people, sages, and saints are different in terms of the realization of non-action.

Ordinary people see that mountains are mountains, and cling to mountains, because ordinary people are greedy and insufficient, and often quarrel over things outside their bodies;

The sage sees that the mountain is not a mountain, because he is afraid of lust and selfishness, so he excludes all external appearances;

The saint sees that the mountain is still a mountain, and does not cling to the mountain, and has reached the point where he does whatever he wants and does not exceed the rules.

Therefore, the difference between ordinary people, sages, and saints lies in this, that is, the difference between inaction and action.

Zhiha, do you understand Sa?

Only by understanding that it is an illusion can we comprehend the illusion.

Only by knowing that life is an illusion can we live in the real world.

Knowing that everything will eventually decay, he blatantly loves the hues of the world.

Knowing that in the end they will all end up as dry bones, so they calmly enjoy everything gained and lost.

Knowing that there is no difference between reality and illusion, there is no longer any attachment to truth and falsehood.

Knowing that everything is always impermanent, so pain and joy are also in your thoughts.

Because there is no Dharma in the first place, the Dharma we are talking about today is not a ball in the first place.

Everything has a way of doing things, like a dream bubble, like dew and electricity, and should be viewed as such.

Su Bodhi woke up, understood, understood, I understood, teacher, I understood the teacher...... I was overjoyed.

The other disciples who listened to it also came to their senses, and they all laughed.

They all said that today's Longmen array is so comfortable and worth it, and we will do it in two days.
