Yu Peng, member of the Standing Committee of the China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, President of the Hubei Overseas Chinese Entrepreneurs Association, President of the Hubei Association of California, Vice Chairman of the Wuhan Federation of Overseas Chinese, and President of the Overseas Chu Merchants Federation, was invited to attend. More than 600 people from various states in the consular district, including overseas Chinese, students and representatives of local police stations, participated in the event.

In his speech, Zhang Jianmin said that the past year has been a critical year for China's economic recovery after the epidemic. Despite the heightened uncertainty of the external environment, China's economy still achieved a medium-to-high growth rate of 5.2%, which has played an important role in the economic growth of the Asia-Pacific region and the world, and remains the largest engine of global growth. This year marks the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, and China will continue to promote high-level opening-up, share the new opportunities brought about by Chinese-style modernization with the rest of the world, and continue to become an important engine for world economic growth. The overall trend of China's long-term economic improvement will not change. The Consulate General in San Francisco is willing to work with all sectors of the consular district to earnestly implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state and better benefit the people of the two countries and the world.

Zhang Jianmin stressed: The results of the two recent elections in the Taiwan region have fully demonstrated that the "Taiwan independence" forces cannot represent the mainstream public opinion in Taiwan, and peace, development, and exchanges are the aspirations of the people on the island. "Taiwan independence" threatens the well-being of compatriots on both sides of the strait, harms the interests of the Chinese nation, and undermines peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait. The Consulate General in San Francisco is willing to work with overseas Chinese and Taiwan compatriots to uphold the one-China principle and the "92 Consensus," resolutely oppose "Taiwan independence" and interference by external forces, jointly safeguard peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait, and advance the great cause of China's reunification.

Ju Hui, executive chairman of the Hubei Association of California, and other well-known overseas Chinese leaders attended the event. At the event, well-known actors from the local overseas Chinese community presented wonderful cultural programs for the overseas Chinese. The Sichuan opera "Kung Fu Changing Face" is superb and magical, the Cantonese opera "Xiangyin" sings beautifully, tactfully and fluently, and the Xinjiang song "Song of the Tianshan Mountains" is cheerful and majestic, fully demonstrating the unique charm of Chinese culture. The applause and cheers at the reception continued, and the guests talked freely, tasted food, and talked about friendship, and the atmosphere was festive and warm.
