The new store is located in the heart of Milan at the historic Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, a landmark shopping mall nestled between Milan's iconic Duomo Cathedral and the world-famous Teatro alla Scala.
This new two-storey boutique is the third new boutique under the creative direction of Matthieu Blazy. In keeping with the new Montaigne flagship store in Paris, which opened last September, the design celebrates the brand's commitment to innovative craftsmanship with a modern and sensual reinterpretation of traditional Italian materials through the use of materials such as Venetian glass, Italian walnut and green Verde Saint Denis marble.
The store design is centered around a geometric grid, with walnut planks on the walls and ceiling framed by industrial square glass tiles. The floor is also laid out in a grid format, with walnut planks outlining the square edges of the Verde Saint Denis marble tiles. The curved staircase, coffee tables, display cases and shelves are all made of walnut for a unique visual look. Leather seating and wool rugs provide a soft and delicate touch to the space, while modular cabinetry adds a sense of exploration to the space.
Matthieu Blazy explains: "The design of the new store presents a rich and varied spatial experience. I wanted to present an interior design concept that collided with the futuristic aesthetic of a spaceship in Italian modernist architecture. Through space, we can capture intimate moments and moments of reverie related to wearing. ”
Together with the two boutiques in Via Montenapoleone and Via Sant'Andrea, the new boutique in the Galleria Galleria Vittoria II will further strengthen Bottega Veneta's position in the heart of Milan's shopping district. The new store will showcase Bottega Veneta leather goods, shoes and women's ready-to-wear collections.
To celebrate the grand opening of the Galleria boutique, Bottega Veneta will exclusively pre-sell three highlights of the Summer 2024 collection in the new store: the new Kalimero Cha-Cha and Citta bags in the classic Intrecciato weave, and the Cha-Cha shoes. The new store will also be available in a limited edition of 15 Sardine bags with exclusive ceramic handles. Each bag will have a special number attached to the gold label on the interior.
The Galleria Emanuel II was designed by the architect Giuseppe Mengoni in 1861 and completed between 1865 and 1877. The building is neoclassical in structure, with two glass arcades intersecting in a central octagonal space, and the iconic glass dome design at the top impresses. In addition to luxury stores, the mall is home to a number of high-end restaurants, cafes and bars, as well as some long-established local brands.
