The reporter learned that at present, Shunde District has 2 geographical indication protection products (Xiangyun Yarn and Lunjiao Cake), 4 enterprises using special signs for geographical indication products, 1 geographical indication certification trademark (Lunjiao Xiangyun Yarn), and 16 enterprises using geographical indication trademarks, and the number is in a leading position in the Pearl River Delta county (district).

It is understood that the main applicant for the protection of the geographical indication of Lunjiao cake is the Shunde District People's Government, and the scope of origin is the administrative area under the jurisdiction of Lunjiao Street. The requirement for its main raw and auxiliary rice is alternate-year late indica rice within the production area; the water requirement is "oyster shell well" water within the production area. At the same time, the washing of rice → bubble rice → milled rice milk→ seasoning → filtering → fermentation → steamed cake → out of the basket→ cooling → slices→ packaging and other 11 main processes are stipulated, the resulting cake body requirements are white or yellow, crystal clear and shiny; the appearance is neat, the thickness is basically uniform, the surface is delicate; the texture is soft, smooth and flexible, there is no folding when folding; the cake body holes are horizontal and vertical, uniform and orderly, the powder is delicate, no powder blocks, no looseness, no slag; the taste is sweet, smooth, and there is a natural fermented rice sour taste. It is understood that the approval of geographical indication protection products means that the geographical source of Lunjiao cake is marked at the national intellectual property level, adding specific natural elements and humanistic elements to the local traditional cuisine of Shunde, directly transforming the natural location advantage into brand advantage and economic advantage, thereby enhancing the brand strength of Lunjiao cake and further enhancing the "jianghu status" of Shunde's local traditional cuisine.

At present, there are more than 30 production and sales enterprises of Xiangyun yarn, with an annual output value of more than 84 million yuan, and the annual production of Xiangyun yarn is more than 12 million meters; the annual output value of Lunjiao cake is more than 7.2 million yuan, and the annual production of Lunjiao cake is more than 5 million kilograms. Lunjiao Street also issued the "Three-year Action Plan for the High-quality Development of Lunjiao Xiangyun Yarn Industry (2020~2022)" around the development strategy of "one circle, two determinations, three degrees and four ends" of the Xiangyun yarn industry, and built a Xiangyun yarn industry ecosystem, investing about 4 million yuan per year in the "Lunjiao Xiangyun Yarn Special Support Fund" for the protection, inheritance and development of Xiangyun yarn.
