On January 29, Beijing time, the ITTF World Rankings for the fifth week of 2024 were released. The just-concluded WTT Goa Stars Challenge set up the World Volleyball Points, so it became the only variable that disturbed the order of the world rankings.
In the latest world rankings, there have been some subtle changes in all five disciplines. However, since China and Japan both gave up the tournament, the biggest initiative change mainly occurred to the Korean players, because the Korean table tennis sent the largest lineup and gained the most.
South Korea's Shin Yu-bin rose from eighth to seventh in the world rankings, surpassing Qian Tianyi. France's F. Lebrun moved up from eighth to sixth, overtaking Hugo and Lin Yunru in front of him. The two youngsters, both under the age of 20, ignited a fierce youth storm in the top ten areas of the world.
In the men's singles, France's F. Lebrun won the men's singles championship of the Goa Star Challenge, scoring 600 points and reaching a total of 2,720 points, surpassing Lin Yunru (2,450 points) and moving up from eighth to sixth. Hugo, who won the runner-up, reached 2655 points, also passing Lin Yunru, and Xiao Xiaolin fell to eighth.
The top five have not changed, and they are still the five tigers of national table tennis, Fan Zhendong, Wang Chuqin, Ma Long, Liang Jingkun, and Lin Gaoyuan.
In women's singles, South Korea's little princess Shin Yubin's Goa Star Challenge women's singles runner-up won 420 points, with a total of 2,480 points, surpassing national table tennis player Qian Tianyi (2,129 points) and becoming the new world seventh. Qian Tianyi dropped to eighth place.
The women's singles champion of this tournament, Chinese Taipei veteran Zheng Yijing, rose from 18th to 11th place after gaining 600 points, only 6 points away from entering the top 10.
The ranking of the women's singles head zone has not changed, Sun Yingsha is still in the top spot, Wang Yidi, Chen Meng, Wang Manyu, Hina Hayata, and Chen Xingtong are ranked second to sixth.
In Men's Doubles, South Korea's Lim Jong-hoon/Ahn Jae-hyun jumped from seventh to fourth with 600 championship points from the Goa Star Challenge, bringing their total to 2,162 points, surpassing the national table tennis pair Yuan Licen/Xiang Peng, who fell to fifth.
Another Korean pair, Lee Sang-so/Cho Dae-sung, reached the semi-finals of the tournament with 210 points, moving up one spot to eighth.

In Women's Doubles, South Korea's Tian Ji Hee/Shin Yu Bin won the Women's Doubles title at the WTT Goa Star Challenge, earning 600 world ranking points and bringing their total to 5,220 points, continuing to top the rankings. The second is the national table tennis product combination Wang Manyu/Sun Yingsha (4290 points), and the third is the national table tennis big Mengdi combination Chen Meng/Wang Yidi (4015 points).
In Mixed Doubles, the Goa Star Challenge was won by Korea's Lim Shin pair, bringing Lim Jong Hoon/Shin Yu Bin to 4th place with 2,925 points, surpassing Chinese Taipei's Lin Yun Ru/Chen Si Yu (2,480 points). A further threat was posed to the third-ranked national table tennis anime pair Lin Shidong/Kuaiman (3,100 points).
The top two in mixed doubles are still Wang Chuqin/Sun Yingsha, Tomokazu Zhangmoto/Hina Hayata.
Among the five individual events, the national table tennis ranks first in four items, and the dominance of Wang Shi cannot be shaken.
