How parents should guide

Jia Yan, director of the Jingwei Fifth Department of the Second People's Hospital of Dezhou City, said: In order to help children cope with "holiday syndrome", parents can refer to the following practices.

Stick to a regular schedule during the holidays Parents can set a relatively fixed time for falling asleep and waking up with their children. In order to allow children to eat regularly, they can also actively participate in the preparation of three meals a day, assist in completing housework, and enhance children's self-care ability and sense of family responsibility. In addition, too many snacks should be avoided at home.

Balancing leisure and study While arranging leisure and entertainment, parents can organize some edutainment activities on a regular basis. For example, taking children to participate in research activities, visiting museums, etc., can subtly improve their enthusiasm for learning.

Parents can arrange a small amount of study plan for their children according to the requirements of the school to consolidate the knowledge they have learned, and they can also properly preview the learning content of the next semester. Don't over-schedule your child's learning tasks, such as asking your child to overdo homework. Holidays should not turn into another form of school life, and too many learning tasks can be stressful for children and not conducive to maintaining high learning efficiency.

Control the use of electronic products Set the use time of electronic products with your child, try not to only emphasize "prohibited", which is easy to trigger children's rebellious feelings, but to emphasize more "what can be done", such as encouraging children to participate in physical exercise, outdoor activities and family activities, etc., so that children can feel that even if they do not use electronic products, they can experience a lot of happiness and a sense of achievement.

Promote social interaction Encourage your child to communicate with friends or arrange small gatherings between family and friends to help your child maintain and develop social skills. Parents should try to avoid letting their children be alone all day.

Pay attention to mental health Parents should not only care about their children's physical health and academic performance, but also need to take the initiative to understand their inner feelings and thoughts, and care about changes in their emotional and social situations. In the face of children's mood swings or behavior changes, parents should listen more, understand more, evaluate less, preach less, and do not blindly blame, and patiently find the reasons for their children's changes, help them learn to express their emotions reasonably, and deal with life, academic and social difficulties.

If the child persists in bad mood, parents should actively seek professional help, such as seeking a psychological counselor, or going to the psychiatric department of the hospital to check for mental illness.

Jia Yan reminded: In short, the holiday is also a precious period for children's growth, and reasonable guidance from parents can effectively avoid holiday syndrome "entanglement" on children. Here, I also wish all the children a happy and fulfilling holiday and the best mental state to meet the next stage of growth.
