I have a historical relationship with Han Fuyu and other high-level personnel. After graduating from the Beiyang School of Law and Politics in 1921, I went to work in Feng Yuxiang's army, and was transferred from secretary and military judge to tax administration, which was deeply appreciated by Feng Yuxiang. Han Fuyu and I are related, so the relationship is closer. In 1929, when Han rebelled against Feng and defected to Chiang, I was serving as the deputy director of the Henan Provincial Anti-Smoking Inspection Department (the director was Fu Zhengshun, the director of the Department of Finance, and I was actually responsible), and Han Hui Kaifeng was appointed chairman of the Henan Provincial Government, leaving me to succeed in the work. In 1930, I became the head of Han's office in Beiping, responsible for liaison with Yan Xishan.
After Han became the chairman of the Shandong Provincial Government, he appointed me as the director of the Shandong Provincial Cattle Licensing Administration, handling tax work, and often running outside on his behalf to engage in some political activities. After Zhang Xueliang entered the customs, I contacted him on his behalf, and Zhang and Han became brothers. When Song Zheyuan was in charge of the affairs of North China, I also kept in contact, and Han and Song met at Song's home in Leling to discuss important issues between the two sides. He also maintained a certain amount of contact with Feng Yuxiang, in addition to ensuring his safety, and helping his living expenses from time to time.
After Han expelled Liu Zhennian, the province's automobile traffic was unified, and I was transferred to serve as the deputy director of the transportation department of the Third Route Army and the director of the Shandong Provincial Automobile and Road Management Bureau, in charge of the province's automobile traffic business. After the outbreak of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, the Automobile Road Administration Bureau was reorganized into the Automobile Corps of the Third Route Army, with me as the commander, and ordered all trucks to be modified with steel plates and used as armored vehicles for combat and military transportation tasks.
Before the ROK withdrew from Jinan, the Automobile Corps was ordered to move to Guide in Henan Province to conduct military reorganization training, and some of the cars were already equipped with steel plates. Although I am stationed in Guide, I am still very concerned about all the developments of Han and the Third Route Army.

One day, I suddenly received a telegram from Xuzhou from my old friend Zhao Yusong, a representative of the Sichuan Army, saying that he had taken a train to Hankou by train to Hankou one day, and invited me to wait at the station for a meeting. I deeply felt his kindness, and I left him to get out of the car and go to Cao County to meet Han (Han's home was in Cao County at that time). He said that Hankou had important matters for him to solve, and he could not stop halfway.
Immediately after Zhao left, I went to Cao County to meet Han and report on the situation I had discussed with Zhao. After hearing this, Han was silent for a while, and then called someone to go to the staff office to fetch the telegram that had recently exchanged with Li. I opened it and looked, and sure enough, some of the words and sentences were really stiff, and these words and sentences were all approved by Han on the call, and the staff office took out these words intact. Han didn't want to admit his mistake, but said, "Mr. Zhao, you go to thank you." Li Zongren wants to fight a lawsuit, so let's fight!" I tried my best to persuade Han and said: "The people are the chiefs, and we are under the command of the others, put yourself in your shoes, if you are the chief, what will happen? Or send someone to explain and explain, won't the lawsuit be easy to fight?" Han pondered for a moment and said, "Okay! You can go and explain on my behalf!"

There were many people who participated in the discussion, including Li Shuchun, Wang Xiangrong, Zhang Shaotang, etc., on the provincial side, Liu Shuxiang, Zhang Yue, and several division chiefs on the headquarters side, and Sun Tongxuan, Cao Fulin, and Wu Huawen leading troops. At that time, I can't remember the details of everyone's speeches accurately, but I remember that the personnel of the provincial government and the headquarters were worried about Han's safety, and their hearts were very heavy. Several troop leaders discussed the changes that would take place in the Third Route Army in the future.
Cao Fulin complained that Han's left and right should not have allowed the chairman to go to the meeting in the first place. As for how to try to rescue, they didn't come up with a good solution. Zhang Shaotang proposed that people should be sent to Hankou immediately to inquire about Han's situation and try to rescue him. In the end, I unanimously pushed me to go, and I was duty-bound, agreed to go, returned to Germany immediately, handed over the affairs of the regiment to Li Tiemin's regiment, and then took a ride to Han.
I went to Hankou and stayed in the office of the Third Route Army. According to Director Wang Kairu, Han was detained in Chiang's camp building, and he was still given preferential food and lodging, but he was not allowed to meet with outsiders, and it was not clear what the other situation was. When we returned to the office, we all thought that Feng and Lu were extremely concerned about Han Jun, and they talked very reasonably.
I thought at the time that when Han was the commander of the regiment, brigade, and division, he was all promoted by Lu Zhonglin, and most of the officers of the Third Route Army were Lu's old subordinates. There are many ways for the deer, and his arrival in the Third Route Army can not only push Feng Yuxiang to save Han, but also benefit the entire Third Route Army. I told Wang Kairu about this method, and Wang agreed very much. We went to see Feng again the next day and reported our opinion to Feng. This team was the old foundation of the First Division, and many of the officers were the old subordinates of Director Lu (Lu was the director of law enforcement at that time). When everyone heard this, they were all stunned. At this time, I didn't want to do any other activities, so I obtained Sun Tongxuan's consent, officially handed over the post of automobile corps to Li Tiemin, and rushed to Hankou with Han's wife Ji Ganqing to handle Han's funeral.

You go and see what to do with his corpse, and talk about the rest later!" I said, "Han's family is also here, and they plan to bring it back for burial." We opened the coffin and looked at it, and there were seven shots in the body, all in the chest, the blood stains had been washed and the clothes were fine. Everyone discussed, there was no need to change it again, only add another silk slip, cover the whole body, and cover the coffin again. I heard that after Han was shot, Feng and Lu sent people to take care of the funeral on their behalf.
I went to see Feng again and reported the situation of Han Ling's corpse. Feng asked, "Where are you going to be buried?" I said, "I decided to bury him in Jigong Mountain first, and after the war, his family will have to be transported back to the north for burial." Feng said, "Very good." I immediately went to Mr. Feng Yuxiang to hide, and did not go to Jigong Mountain. I went to Feng and told Feng that Chiang Kai-shek had ordered me to be arrested and asked him to try to rescue me.
Feng then ordered me to stay with him and told me not to go out. Many days later, Feng met with Chiang Kai-shek, and by the way, he interceded on his behalf, explaining that I was a relative of Han, and that it was normal for me to follow Han for many years, and to feel Han's acquaintance and rush to rescue him on his behalf; as for contacting the troops, it was also for the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, and there was absolutely no intention of resisting the central authorities. Feng He said: "This person has been with me for a long time, I know him very well, he is very honest, and he is willing to vouch for him." Jiang then agreed not to pursue the case, and then revoked the wanted notice. But there were Chiang's spies everywhere, and danger could occur at any time, so Feng left me to work with him as his attaché. After that, I accompanied Feng to inspect the troops in Chengdu, Guizhou, Yunnan, Guangxi, and other major cities; after returning to Chongqing, I took up the communication mission of the vice chairman's office. Later, I heard that Feng had plans to go abroad, and I thought there was no need for me to stay any longer, so I borrowed a plane ticket to Hong Kong that a friend had bought, and quit Feng to fly to Hong Kong and change my career to business.
