HoopsHype's Michael Skeeto and The Athletic's Jovin Buha spoke about the Lakers' situation in the latest episode of The HoopsHype podcast about the future of head coach Darvin Ham.
Scotto: Davin Ham is often a hot topic on NBA Twitter and Lakers Twitter, as we've seen with Frank Vogel, just about any coach who has coached the Lakers, do you think Ham will be safe to coach until the offseason?
Buha: Absolutely, I think he's safe for the rest of the season. If things get completely out of hand and the Lakers lose six, seven or eight games in a row, and you see them spiraling down the standings, then things can get wobbly. Earlier a month after the loss in Miami, Shams and I reported that the Lakers were moving in that direction. They lost four games in a row for the second time in a few weeks. There was some disconnect in the dressing room and the players were upset about their roles and rotations. I don't think those things are completely gone.
The Lakers won't fire him until they reach a point where their record is out of control. I think he's safe now. I think things really have to spiral down for his position to be shaky.
