New York taxi drivers suffer from a bizarre case: they arrive at their destination only to find that the passengers are actually dead

According to a comprehensive report by the US Chinese Network, a strange case occurred in New York City in the early morning of Wednesday, when a taxi driver delivered a "drunk" female passenger to her home in Flushing, Queens, when his friend found that the woman had no response, and she was pronounced dead by doctors after being sent to the hospital.

The New York Post quoted sources as saying police are investigating the woman's death, suspecting he killed her. On Thursday, police executed a search warrant for a prominent illegal nightclub on the Lower East Side.

The name of the 26-year-old victim has not been released. In the early hours of Wednesday morning, her friend received a call saying she was drunk at a Lower East Side nightclub, and the friend called a cab. The driver saw four men carrying the unconscious woman into the taxi.

When the taxi arrived, the friend noticed that the woman had gone unresponsive and told the taxi driver to drive straight to the hospital.

There, the doctor realized that the woman was not drunk, but had died.

According to people familiar with the matter, the attending physician at Queens Hospital in New York-Presbyterian Church determined that the victim had "suspicious" burns on his face, neck and back, as well as bruises, but there was no alcohol smell on his body.

At around 5:50 a.m. on Wednesday, the woman was pronounced dead. The hospital's security officer then dialed 911.

Surveillance footage subsequently obtained by police showed the unconscious woman being carried out of a nightclub on Division Street in New York's Chinatown.

Police returned to the scene Thursday afternoon and executed a search warrant on the nightclub, where investigation into the bizarre death continues.
