It is reported that a Myanmar military plane went to India to pick up Burmese soldiers who fled to India at around 10:30 a.m. on January 23, 2024, and taxied off the runway and crashed while arriving at Langpoi (Lengpui) airport for descent! A total of 14 people on board, including the pilot, were injured, eight of whom were injured. The injured are currently being treated at Langpoi Hospital.
Of the 276 Burmese soldiers who fled to India, the first batch of 184 was picked up back to Myanmar on January 22, while the remaining 92 were scheduled to be picked up on January 23 when the plane crashed off the runway.
