This summer, we first heard rumors about a new large D2C set in the LEGO NINJAGOGO series. The set is expected to contain more than 3,000 bricks and will feature a design called "Temple City of Martial Arts". While it won't be a new LEGO Ninjago City building, it's likely to continue the iconic style of the Flying Ninja Temple.

The "Tournament Temple City", which is expected to be the largest LEGO NINJAGO® set in 2024, consists of 3,489 LEGO bricks. We don't know exactly what the temple city of the tournament in the "NINJAGO® universe" looks like. Perhaps this set was inspired by the LEGO 71735 Elemental Ring Race, which was launched in 2022 for the fourth season of the NINJAGO® series. It would be very fitting if the tournament temple city also included an arena, where ninjas could fight or face other challenges.
In 2015, four years after the launch of LEGO NINJAGO, the 70751 Flying Ninja Temple was unveiled. Before the release of The LEGO NINJAGO® Movie in 2017, it was the largest set in the themed world to date. With a total of 1966 parts, the set builds a tall red temple topped by a combination of two traditional Japanese buildings.
Like the later LEGO NINJAGO® City set, this set doesn't sacrifice playability, for example, the model includes a theater with light tiles. The use of a black roller shutter as a roof also laid the groundwork for the creative use of the parts in the NINJAGO® set.
