Fast Technology reported on January 22 that the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology released an analysis report on the operation of the domestic mobile phone market in December 2023.

According to the report, from January to December 2023, the overall shipment of mobile phones in the domestic market totaled 289 million units, a year-on-year increase of 6.5%.

Among them, the cumulative shipments of domestic brand mobile phones were 231 million units, a year-on-year increase of 1.1%, accounting for 79.9% of mobile phone shipments in the same period.

Among them, 5G mobile phone shipments were 240 million units, a year-on-year increase of 11.9%, accounting for 82.8% of mobile phone shipments in the same period.

From January to December 2023, a total of 441 new models were listed, a year-on-year increase of 4.3%, of which 214 were 5G mobile phones, a year-on-year decrease of 2.7%, accounting for 48.5% of the number of new mobile phone models listed in the same period.

From January to December 2023, smartphone shipments reached 276 million units, a year-on-year increase of 4.8%, accounting for 95.6% of mobile phone shipments in the same period.

From January to December 2023, a total of 356 new smartphone models were launched, a year-on-year increase of 1.4%, accounting for 80.7% of the number of new models launched in the same period.
