In the depths of the mountains of Qijiang District, which is 120 kilometers away from the main city of Chongqing, there is an old third-line period, the site of the old military factory with a long history, the scale is large, once brilliant, and the formal employees at the peak are as many as 3,000 people.
A third-line factory is called Shuangxi Machinery Factory, located between the Yangdu River and the Shilong River in Qijiang District, surrounded by mountains and dense forests, with a very high degree of secrecy! In that period of the hot, arduous construction of the third line, the builders and their families from all over the country came to work and live in the depths of this mountain, as if it had become an independent small town, with factories, family areas, hospitals, schools, and markets.
About the history of the Shuangxi factory, we still need to understand it first, it was founded in 1965, the military code name Guoying 147 factory, at that time it was mainly built with the aid of Qiqihar Peace Machinery Factory and Shanxi Jinxi Machinery Factory, at that time it was mainly the production of heavy artillery, it is said that these cannons in the self-defense counterattack against Vietnam has made great contributions!
When I walked into the gate of the Sungai factory, I found that the office building here is still intact, including the staff dormitory building on the left, and most of the production plants, although it has been somewhat dilapidated, but it is still in good condition in general, especially in the family dormitory building, there are still a few elderly families still staying here, is it reluctant to live here in the youth years, or other reasons!
The whole Sungai factory can be roughly divided into two parts, one is in the valley, the other is distributed in the cave on the cliff, the valley is mainly ordinary assembly workshops, office areas, living areas, including cinemas, banks, post offices, clubs, hospitals, schools, etc., which are more convenient, and the cliff is a more important assembly workshop, such as workshop 101, which is on the cliff, and the workers have to take a winch to go up to and from work!
Especially on the side of the cliff mountain, in addition to the assembly workshop halfway up the mountain, there are natural caves at the foot of the mountain as other workshops, such as Cave 3, which was the workshop for assembling precision devices, because it was necessary to dispose of gold leftovers, and the small building next to it was the appliance repair workshop, which is a very important place!
In the 80s of the last century, with the development and change of the domestic and international situation, the construction of the third line slowly stopped, and military factories like this slowly withdrew from the stage of history, in 1988, Sungai Machinery Factory as a whole moved to the fish cave in Banan District, and here, it slowly declined, abandoned, somewhat embarrassing!
When I walk alone in such a deserted place, like an "empty city", I still have in my mind the arduous years of struggle during that period of third-line construction, as well as the tremendous contributions they made to the country in that special period, which are worthy of our commemoration and reverence! Recall the glory of the times and pay tribute to the spirit of the third-line spirit!
It's just that such a historical building that seems to be still largely intact at present, if it is allowed to continue to be abandoned and dilapidated, it is still a pity, can we consider turning it into an industrial theme park, just like Chongqing's Erling No. 2 Factory?
