After a round of intensive preparations, the all-new BMW 5 Series Long Wheelbase Edition has rolled off the production line at the Shenyang plant, which means that the most critical step before the launch of the new car is about to be officially launched in January 2014, and now it has entered the final countdown to the launch.

As one of the benchmark models in the era of fuel vehicles, the BMW 5 Series once had a long history and a glorious past, and was the main representative of the C-class luxury cars.

It is reported that the domestic long-axle 5 series will launch 6 models, and the imported standard axle version will launch 2 models.

From the appearance, the new BMW 5 Series adopts a tough and luxurious design style, with a more complex front face shape, and two chrome logo kidney air intakes are the visual center of gravity. It is worth mentioning that the new BMW 5 Series does not adopt the super large nostril design of the current BMW 7 Series, but is more similar to the current 5 Series. The all-new BMW 5 Series features a newly designed Angel Eye headlights, which are richer in shape and more brilliant. The new BMW 5 Series has a complex shape of the lower air intakes, and the air deflectors on both sides are equally complex, bringing more mechanical visual effects.

Compared with the complex front face, the new 5 Series is much simpler on the side, the overall lines are elegant, smooth and slender, and the classic Holmes corners are integrated with the chrome decoration of the C-pillar, bringing a particularly luxurious and powerful visual experience.

The rear design of the all-new BMW 5 Series is solid and solid, with two groups of split headlights with rich internal layers, a small rear wing on the tail box lid to enhance the dynamics of the body, and a chrome decorative strip above the exhaust pipe is very eye-catching, which also makes the visual center of gravity slightly lower, enhancing the sense of heaviness.

At the interior level, the BMW 5 Series adopts the latest family-style design, the cockpit is slightly biased to the driver's side, and the center console is equipped with a 12.3-inch LCD instrument + 14.9-inch central control screen, which has become the visual center of gravity of the cockpit and also integrates more commonly used functions. The chunky flat-bottomed steering wheel has a good grip, and the knob-style gear shift not only saves space, but also makes the vision more advanced.

In terms of space, the BMW 5 Series long wheelbase version has a length, width and height of 5175/1900/1520mm and a wheelbase of 3105mm. Compared with the current model, the length, width and height of the new car have increased slightly, but the wheelbase remains the same, and the actual interior space should not change much.

In terms of power, the all-new 5 Series fuel version is equipped with a 2.0T inline four-cylinder turbocharged engine, of which the 525Li is equipped with a 2.0T low-power engine with a maximum power of 190 horsepower, and the 530Li is equipped with a 2.0T high-power engine with 48V mild hybrid technology, with a maximum power of 258 horsepower and a peak torque of 400 Nm.

It is reported that the new BMW 5 Series will be replaced at the same time, while the new BMW 5 Series long wheelbase version will roll off the assembly line, the imported standard axle version and the electric version of the i5 are also being prepared for the market.

It is certain that the launch of the new BMW 5 Series will inevitably enhance the competitiveness of the 5 Series and gain greater market advantages, especially the better handling compared to the Audi A6 and Mercedes-Benz E-Class, which many BMW fans have long been looking forward to. However, an obvious reality is that with more and more wolf-like new energy models on the market, BMW 5 Series may not be easy to regain the prosperity of the past.
