Recently, I found that many friends said that their C disk was full and checked through large file analysis, all of which were a file called Windows.edb.
This Windows.edb is a database file indexed by Windows Search, which stores the index information of all files on your computer, making file search faster and more efficient.
You can delete the file directly, but it's not recommended. After deletion, if the indexing service is still on, Windows recreates the file. If you delete a Windows.edb file, the file search will be very slow until the system re-indexes.
Change the storage location of Windows.edb
If you run out of space on your C drive, you can move your Windows.edb files to a different partition. As a result, the file size may be reduced to about 1GB, freeing up more space on the C drive.
Change the storage location via the Advanced Search Indexer Settings in Windows settings.
Hold down the Win+i key, click Privacy & Security, find [Search Windows], and click [Advanced Indexing Options]
