At the end of 1978, I was transferred from the savings unit of the People's Bank of Linyi County to a newly established commune business office and credit cooperative. It is in the west of Linyi, the road is long and full of sand, and its name is Jiuzhuang Commune.
Once in its prime
At that time, the commune-level business outlets of the Agricultural Bank of China were called business offices, which were co-located with credit cooperatives, and there were two signs hanging at the gate, one called the business office and the other called the credit cooperative. The leadership also has two sets of teams, and the staff work together. Outsiders do not understand the situation, and they cannot distinguish at all who are bank employees and who are credit cooperatives, and only internal personnel can understand the difference; an important sign is the payment of wages, and the salaries of the personnel of the ABC business offices are uniformly distributed by the county branches, while the salaries of the personnel of the credit cooperatives are paid by their own units; the other is two sets of teams, one is the director of the business office, the other is the director of the credit cooperative; and the third is the various businesses that occur every day according to the nature of the unit or the industry of the various businesses that are recorded in the account of the Agricultural Bank of China or the account of the credit cooperative. For example, the business of grain management offices, supply and marketing cooperatives, food stations, and other units must be included in the accounts of the Agricultural Bank of China, while the deposits, withdrawals, and loans of township enterprises, brigades, production teams, and individuals must be included in the accounts of credit cooperatives, and the internal division of labor is clearly defined.
Because it is a newly established commune, there is neither a cinema, nor a library, nor a restaurant and other places for life and entertainment, and it is very inconvenient to work and live in all aspects, and a fatal weakness is the lack of water there, and the water is obtained from a well in the east of Machanghu Village, which is a kilometer away. Speaking of this, some people may not believe it now, but at that time there was not a single well in the entire commune station, and they had to go to fetch water. When we got water, we had to go to the commune canteen to borrow a special floor truck for pulling water, and on the car was a large iron bucket that could hold more than a dozen water, and a gathering hole was welded on it, and it could be used for four or five days to pull water back. I usually go in the afternoon, one reason is because I have time to do business after work in the afternoon, and the other is that there are few people who fetch water in the afternoon and do not have to compete with farmers for water. After the water is pulled back, we use the tips to put it down, and then pour it into two large water tanks, and usually use it to boil water to drink, wash clothes, wash face, brush teeth, wash feet, etc. Because the only advantage of eating in the commune canteen is that you don't have to cook with it. I still remember that when Accountant Sun used a lot of water to wash his hair and feet, we would think that he was a waste, but in fact, he was just distressed about his time and strength.
Because of the lack of water, the distance from the county, the road is not good, and the living and working environment is poor, several employees assigned by the county branch have been transferred away without even working for a month. One of them, surnamed Hou, is said to be the child of the cadres of the Linyi Prefectural Party Committee at that time, came to report, his mother and he came in a Beijing jeep, it was almost noon, after listening to the director's introduction, he felt that the conditions here were too poor, life was too hard, and there was a shortage of water, so he told Director Ren that he would not come to work, and he also complained vigorously that the line assigned his son to such a poor place. Later, he heard that his father had greeted a certain governor and reassigned him to work in the city.
With the development of time, supply and marketing cooperatives, veterinary stations, food stations and other units have drilled wells, and we don't have to run so far to pull water or carry water, and we are happy from the heart. What is even more encouraging is that in 1985 the commune drilled a deep well, and all units were equipped with running water, and the draft problem was completely solved. The more annoying thing is to go to the county branch for a meeting or to get a voucher, because it is a sandy road, when there is no wind on a sunny day, the dust rolled up after the car tractor rises in the air like a dragon, and it refuses to disperse for a long time, when it is windy, the bicycle cannot be pedaled, and when it rains, the road is full of potholes and the bicycle and the body is full of mud. Usually dozens of miles of dirt roads will put yellow sand on your head, face, and eyebrows, and inhaled fine particles in your mouth and mouth, and we have walked this road for 15 years. In 1992, the asphalt road was built in the western section of Jiefang Road, and we completely got rid of the dusty era and ended this difficult travel history, which is a major event worth celebrating.
Reading and learning Xi accompany me all my life
Although we eat in the commune canteen, we can only use the charcoal stove to boil water to drink, so that we have to drink carbon mud in addition to pulling water, and we must not forget to seal the stove when we are on duty at night, once we forget to seal it, the next day we have to spend time and energy and firewood to regenerate, and the gains outweigh the losses. For many years, this is also a major event outside of work. In winter, a small boiler is used for heating, and a local migrant worker is hired to burn the boiler, and when he rests, our employees have to take turns to replace him as a boilermaker, pushing coal, adding coal, and cleaning the yard.
At that time, it was manual counting of money, manual bookkeeping, and a pen and an abacus were our combat weapons. After the power outage, we light the coal lamp, work overtime, study Xi at night, hold meetings, etc., all rely on it, it illuminates our way forward.
In the past 15 years, we have changed from small grass houses to large bungalows to high-rise buildings; from abacus to calculators to computers; from manual counting of money to machine counting and machine bundles; from manual bookkeeping to using computers; from kerosene lamps to light bulbs to fluorescent lamps; from coal-burning stoves to water dispensers; from burning small boilers for heating, electric fans for cooling to central air conditioning, all kinds of software and hardware facilities have undergone earth-shaking changes. Billions, from three or four people to a medium-sized branch of dozens of people, the growing growth of credit cooperatives is obvious to all. Taking the credit union as its home, taking root in the credit union, serving the credit union, and dedicating to the credit union have become their real actions. After work, we plant trees and flowers, clean up, so that everyone has a good working environment, so that customers feel at home. In our work, we treat every customer with enthusiasm, and truly respond to questions, answer questions, and send voices. This good work style has brought a good political reputation to the credit cooperative, and it has been rated as an advanced unit, an excellent service unit and a unit trusted by the masses for many times, which is the best pot award for our credit union by the broad masses of the people and the leaders at higher levels.
In my spare time, I also climbed the lattice under kerosene lamps and electric lamps to record the people and things of the credit cooperative, and publicize how the credit cooperatives helped township enterprises take off, how to support the development of agriculture, rural areas and rural areas, and how to help the people get rich. I remember one year, I participated in a meeting held by the commune attended by the secretary of the brigade, the accountant, the head of the department directly under the commune, and the accountant, and the meeting called on the people of the commune to start with the traditional stone-making, watermelon-planting, and sweet potato planting, division of labor and cooperation, increase production, and make the people rich. Everyone thinks that this is indeed a good measure and a good way to benefit the people, for this reason, I wrote a newsletter entitled "Flowers Bloom on the Bluestone Slab to Get Rich", and the article was published by the Shandong Township Enterprise Newspaper that year, which effectively publicized the real grandeur of the local people making a fortune by stones. Since then, writing has become my hobby, from communication to prose to novels, published in books and newspapers all the year round, and has been rated as an advanced communicator and excellent propagandist many times, and has been commended and rewarded by superiors. This is the result of the cultivation of the credit union, and it is also an encouragement for my hard work.
At that time, there were many departments directly under the social society, supply and marketing cooperatives, grain management offices, hospitals and other units, and they had their own league organizations, such as business offices, credit cooperatives, radio amplification stations, veterinary stations, and other units that could not set up league branches because of the small number of people. In order to strengthen the party's leadership over youth organizations and promote the development of various youth league activities, the commune established a youth league branch of a department directly under the commune in light of the actual situation, and i was honorably elected secretary of the youth league branch. We should learn Xi once a week, and the commune should take the lead in participating in public welfare activities, such as voluntary tree planting, voluntary blood donation and other public welfare activities that are beneficial to the society.
I remember one year the bank held a large-scale competition to give a speech on the love of work, among them are experienced presidents and directors, accountants with first-class business skills, Cashier: There are credit business personnel in the industry and at the grassroots level, many of them have college and secondary school diplomas, and my education should be the lowest among more than a dozen people participating in the competition, but I used my real working environment, working conditions and living conditions, with simple language, personal experience, and heartfelt speech, no gorgeous rhetoric, no fictional storyline, no exaggerated words, but the speech ushered in the warm and long-lasting applause of the audience, won the unanimous praise of the contestants, and finally the judges scored, I won the first place, and got the praise of the leader and a certain material reward。

In the 15 years I have worked in grassroots credit cooperatives, I have joined the party from cashier to accountant to director, joined the party, become a cadre, have a family, have children, and have lived a very fulfilling work and life every day. In the specific business, he continued to learn and Xi, worked hard to meet the needs of business development, worked hard, no matter whether he was a cashier or an accountant, he could get a ranking in technical competitions, and he also got a certificate, and he was rated as an advanced worker for many years, and he also made close friends with local farmers. In the spring, watch them sow the seeds of hope in the moist land with their bare feet, and in the autumn, enjoy the joy of a fruitful harvest with them. On the days when melons and fruits are fragrant, they will send me hawthorn, grapes, apples, watermelons, sweet potatoes, millet, etc., and in return they are hospitality and infinite trust in tobacco and alcohol. I became friends with them all the time, they consulted me about investment and financial matters, I promoted financial literacy to them, and my friendship grew day by day.
In the past 15 years, I have dedicated my good youth to the supreme and glorious cause of my beloved, through the difficult and unstoppable trek forward, from the cashier, accountant, director of the credit union, to the head of the personnel section of the county association, along the way, conscientious, no regrets, until the glorious retirement, the credit union is always in my heart. Even now, even though I have been retired for many years, I still care about its growth. Looking back on the road I have traveled, I can firmly and proudly say that the credit union has cultivated me, and I have contributed to the development and growth of the credit union. In this life, my affection for the credit union will never swerving, and I will always be grateful to her and love her.
