The age of 3-6 is a critical period for children's growth, during which children are always full of infinite curiosity and imagination about the world. How to help children see the wider world, improve their creativity, and promote children's all-round development? On January 7th, the parent-child picture book reading & handicraft workshop "Little Secrets in the Ocean" jointly organized by Shangyin Opera House and Xujiahui Street, Xuhui District, was launched in the Shanghai Style Creative Art Workshop on Nandan East Road.
"What is the biggest creature in the ocean?", "What is the smallest creature?", "Why do fish always flock in groups?", led by the keynote speaker Mars, the children in Xujiahui Street followed the steps of the little sea turtle, the protagonist of the book, to explore and harvest the answers to their questions in the depths of the vast ocean.
In the subsequent handmade DIY session, the children who participated in the activity were even more interested. Two paper cups and two colored stripes have been transformed into lifelike "little octopuses". The happy, angry, and sad little octopuses are born in the imagination of children.
Mr. Zhang, who participated in the event, said: "Because the children are more interested in the sea, they signed up. By participating in the activities, the child not only learned more new knowledge about the ocean Xi, but also improved his social skills. I heard that there will be a Spring Festival-themed event in February, and I will definitely bring him whenever I have time. ”
It is reported that since February 2023, more than a dozen activities with different themes have been carried out in the "Picture Book Workshop" created by Shangyin Opera House: through vivid reading explanations and derivative creative handicrafts, children's cognitive ability and emotional literacy have been enhanced.
Mars, the keynote speaker of the event, told reporters: "Because the age of the children participating in the activity is concentrated in 3-6 years old. According to the characteristics of children at this age, starting from their interests, combined with the recommended books for children released by the Ministry of Education, we have selected more than a dozen picture books with different themes. Through reading pictures, listening to stories, and doing handicrafts, children can learn about the new world. ”
It is reported that the "Picture Book Workshop" will continue to be carried out in the Shangyin Opera House and the streets, and send more families to help their children grow up with services.
