Overturned, but not completely.
When I bought some major appliances, I thought about "once and for all", and now I spend a little more money, and I can save the cost of use in the future. The result turned out to be very discouraging: the legendary "saving money" was not reflected at all. But I was surprised to find that they were very easy to use, and they were not a loss.
Today, we will take stock of 5 major appliances that focus on "saving money" but do not save money, but are really easy to use.
.01 Central air conditioning
Selling point: Lower power consumption than body air conditioners.
In the actual use process, the "power saving" effect is not obvious. After asking the after-sales service, I found out that there is a premise for its power saving - the more rooms that use air conditioning at the same time, the more obvious the power saving effect.
There is also half a sentence that I didn't say after sale, but I summed it up myself: when the number of rooms using air conditioning at the same time does not exceed two, central air conditioning is more expensive than body air conditioning.
The unexpected surprise is that its comfort is really high:
The direction of the air outlet can be changed at will, and the chance of blowing directly into people is almost zero. The air outlet and return air outlet are independent of each other, the indoor air circulation range is larger, the heating and cooling speed is fast, and the indoor temperature is uniform.
.02 Zero chilled gas water heater
Selling point: No need to put cold water before bathing.
When I saw this selling point, my first reaction was "this thing can save water". After all, you don't have to let go of the cold water in the pipes, wouldn't you save several tons of water in a year?
Water is saved, but it relies on circulating the water in the hot water pipes in advance. The gas water heater is always working during the cycle, and the gas meter beats faster than my heart. The comprehensive cost is much higher than the water bill.
So probably I misunderstood its selling point:
The biggest advantage of zero cold water gas water heater is not "saving money" but "saving time and trouble", no need to stand in front of the shower and wait for cold water, the quality of life can be greatly improved.
.03 No main light illumination
Selling point: The power of the individual luminaires is very low.
The power of a ceiling lamp is more than 60W, but the power of a small downlight or spotlight is only about 5W. If the power is small, is the power consumption low? As it turned out, I thought too much about it.
In the same room, there is a certain need for brightness. The power of a single luminaire in non-main lighting is smaller, but the total power of multiple luminaires together does not become smaller, or even larger.
Ownerless lighting was never made to save money:
The biggest advantage of "no main light" is that the light is uniform, and the brightness is the same in every corner of the room. Moreover, the irradiation range is wide, and there are few blind spots with complete backlighting.
.04 high-power gas stove
Selling point: The heat of the gas stove is huge.
At first, I thought that the heat of the gas stove is larger, does it mean that the combustion of the gas stove is more sufficient? The thermal efficiency of the ordinary gas stove is less than 60%, and changing to a high-power gas stove can reduce the waste of natural gas.
When I bought it, I realized that "heat" and "thermal efficiency" are two different things. The air intake of the high-power gas stove is larger, which not only does not have the effect of saving energy, but the gas consumption is greater than that of the low-power gas stove.
But if I had to choose again, I would still choose a high-power gas stove:
The more power the gas stove has, the better the effect of stir-frying. Chinese food is all about heat, and the more powerful the fire, the easier it is to master the heat. Moreover, the heating speed of the large fire is also faster, and it is more time-saving to boil water and porridge.
.05 Water Purifier
Selling point: Homemade purified water at home.
This is a kind of thinking inertia - I always feel that what I make at home will definitely be cheaper than the finished products I buy outside. Isn't it cheaper to make purified water at home than to buy bottled water directly?
The reality is disappointing again, the water purifier not only costs water and electricity, but also has to replace the filter element regularly every year. The annual cost of the filter cartridge alone is enough to drink a year's worth of bottled water.
However, the benefits of water purifiers are also known after use:
The convenience of "no need to call for water" is really only understood by those who have used it. Moreover, the water purification mechanism water does not have to worry about secondary pollution, does not have to worry about the problem of black-hearted small workshops, and it is more safe to drink.
