On December 30, with the successful conclusion of the last guided tour of the year, the Hengqin Wildlife Conservation Publicity Month, which lasted for nearly a month, came to an end, with a total of 5 activities organized in this series of activities, with the participation of more than 150 Macao residents.
It is reported that every weekend since December, the Hengqin Urban Planning and Construction Bureau (hereinafter referred to as the "Urban Planning and Construction Bureau"), together with the Macao Municipal Affairs Bureau, has joined hands with the Macao Federation of Trade Unions Vocational and Technical Secondary School, the Macao Federation of Trade Unions North District Integrated Service Center, the Macao Federation of Trade Unions Songbai Home Elderly Center and other organizations to recruit a group of Macao parent-child families and residents to go bird watching and viewing in the Erjing Bay Wetland Park.
"The area of Hengqin is about three times that of Macao, and it is slowly reclaimed by the two small islands of Dahengqin and Xiaohengqin. On the way, the staff introduced the history and geographical knowledge of Hengqin to everyone. Macao residents who participated in the event traveled west along the beautiful Tianmu River via the Hengqin Port to the Erjing Bay Wetland Park, the largest ecological wetland in Hengqin and Macao.
It is understood that every winter, a large number of migratory birds will fly from the north to the south, and the rich animal and plant resources of the wetland park attract migratory birds to come to forage and perch. Citizens were also curious about the facilities of the wetland park, so they went to the front of the insect house to take a closer look, and the teacher explained that it was a "mini hotel" for small insects.
During the guided tour, the instructor introduced the knowledge of mangroves and migratory birds to the participants with rich knowledge reserves and professional equipment, and Xi learned the knowledge of bird taxonomy, which gave them a new understanding of the biodiversity of Hengqin. A family from Macau said, "I hope to participate in similar activities again in the future and have more opportunities to get close to nature." ”
