The winter in Wuhan is dry and cold. The minimum temperature is not lower than -5 degrees Celsius, and the general low temperature is maintained at about -1-2 degrees Celsius. It is not comparable to those places in the north with a low temperature of more than ten degrees below zero, but there are no ondols in the rural areas of the north and heating facilities in the northern cities.
How do people keep warm during the long winter days? How do they keep warm during the long nights?
In the past, people were poor, and they could only carry it hard, wearing thick cotton jackets and cotton pants, bulging like a walking turnip, and sleeping at night covered with a thick quilt of ten catties.
Then there were electric blankets.
Electric blankets are so nice!
Plug in the electricity in advance, and the quilt is warm when you go to bed, which is very comfortable. It's like before, the bed is cold, the quilt is cold, people are huddled in it, and it takes half a day to get warm.
The price is extremely cheap, dozens of yuan, hundreds of yuan a bed, practical and convenient.
Almost every household here has bought electric blankets, and some people have bought a few beds. I bought four beds, one for the elderly on both sides, one for myself, and one for my daughter.
Four beds are only more than 500 yuan, and there is really no more cost-effective thermal equipment than this.
Now, people's living conditions are better, and some people use air conditioners to heat their homes.
In my own home, I still use electric blankets to warm the bed, and rarely turn on the air conditioner to keep warm, unless there are sick people or the elderly to live in.
One is that long-term air conditioning is not good for health, the air is dry, and those who come in and go out are prone to colds.
Second, the electricity cost of long-term air conditioning is not cheap. It is often hundreds more a month, and if there are two rooms with air conditioning on, plus other electricity, I am afraid that it will cost thousands of electricity bills.
The third is that our winters here are not too cold. Nowadays, people wear down jackets, eat hot pot, cover warm quilts, spread thick mattresses, and warm the bed with electric blankets before going to bed at night, which can ensure a warm sleep at night.
In my memory, my family turned on the air conditioner in winter, only twice, once because the child was sick, and once when my mother came to live at my house.
As for the electric blanket that is easy to catch fire in some news, and there are also leakage and misfires, we only need to pay attention to 3 points to ensure safety:
1. Buy big brand products and check the quality of electric blankets when buying;
2. Warm up the bed in advance, turn off the electric blanket when you go to bed;
3. Use it within the shelf life, and do not overtime the service.
