For the second year in a row, Huawei Thailand has won the highly respected Prime Minister's Award: Thailand Cybersecurity Excellence Award 2023, underscoring the company's strong commitment to supporting Thailand's cybersecurity standards.

Yesterday, Thailand's Minister of Digital Economy and Society, Prasert Jantararuangtong, presented the award to Huawei Technologies (Thailand) Co., Ltd., led by CEO David Lee.

These accolades are given to government agencies, private companies, and other organizations within Thailand that demonstrate a dedication to advancing cybersecurity and fostering a broad understanding of cyber threats at all levels of Thai society.

This recognition is a testament to the organisations' relentless pursuit to continuously improve Thailand's cybersecurity capabilities. Recognized as one of the organizations supporting Thailand's cybersecurity operations, Huawei is committed to nurturing smart technologies and innovation ecosystems to prepare Thailand for the digital economy and positioning it as the digital hub of ASEAN.

Prasert expressed her gratitude for Huawei's efforts to raise Thailand's cybersecurity standards and for its efforts to continuously transfer valuable knowledge to Thailand through collaboration with partners in the public and private sectors.

"The goal of the National Cyber Security Agency is to make the Thailand Cyber Security Excellence Awards 2023 an important part of raising awareness and preparedness among organizations and their people, as well as society as a whole, to address the growing cyber threats that have serious economic and social impacts. This will bring a creative and supportive force that will enhance Thailand's competitiveness. The minister said.

AVM Amorn Chomchoey, Secretary General of the National Cyber Security Agency (NCSA), said the winners were evaluated by a panel of nine highly qualified experts in the field of cybersecurity. The evaluation committee also commissioned TRIS Corporation, a central agency with expertise in the field.

"As partners, NCSA and Huawei Thailand agreed that we need to directly and indirectly drive these agendas through various activities to achieve these goals, which will bring stronger cybersecurity standards to the country and attract more digital talent to meet the demand from the industrial side," AVM Amorn added.

He highlighted the partnership with Huawei to raise cybersecurity standards in various industries in Thailand, thanked Huawei Thailand for its cooperation in many successful projects over the years, and congratulated Huawei on receiving this prestigious award.

Echoing these sentiments, Amorn reaffirmed Huawei's commitment to raising cybersecurity standards in Thailand. He outlined Huawei's collaboration with various partners in the public and private sectors to raise cybersecurity standards in Thailand and provide more data protection for everyone in the country through leading innovation, education platforms and competitions hosted by Huawei and its government partners.
