Tian Xingjun pointed out in the exchange that Sichuan is an important birthplace of traditional Chinese medicine, and there have been many famous doctors in the past dynasties, and it has the reputation of "the hometown of traditional Chinese medicine, the library of traditional Chinese medicine" and "no prescription without Sichuan medicine". At present, Sichuan is deeply implementing General Secretary Xi Jinping's important exposition on the work of traditional Chinese medicine, placing the work of traditional Chinese medicine in a prominent position in economic and social development, vigorously creating one of the seven national demonstration zones for comprehensive reform of traditional Chinese medicine in the western region, and innovatively building the "Sichuan model" of "the trinity of career, industry and culture, the linkage of primary, secondary and tertiary industries, and international and domestic interaction" of traditional Chinese medicine.
Tian Xingjun emphasized that Sichuan has been actively promoting traditional Chinese medicine to the world, and has built 5 "Tianfu Cloud Doctor, Overseas Huiqiao Telemedicine Stations", including Suriname, and 8 overseas centers of traditional Chinese medicine, serving more than 100,000 overseas people. In the future, it is necessary to further rely on the overseas Huiqiao telemedicine station to strengthen the exchange and dialogue of traditional medicine, deepen mutually beneficial cooperation, continuously promote the application of traditional Chinese medicine in Suriname, and promote traditional Chinese medicine to make greater contributions to the construction of a community of health for mankind.
Liu Zhenhua, Chargé d'Affaires of the Mainland Embassy in Suriname, expressed his heartfelt thanks to Sichuan for the high-quality TCM medical services provided to Suriname for a long time. Liu Zhenhua pointed out that Suriname is a multi-ethnic country with mutual respect, appreciation and tolerance, and harmonious coexistence among all ethnic groups. The Suriname government is very supportive of exchanges and interactions between China and the Soviet Union, and traditional Chinese medicine has a good mass base in Suriname and has great potential for cooperation. It is hoped that Sichuan will strengthen exchanges and cooperation with the Federation of Overseas Chinese and Chinese Associations in Suriname, promote the work of overseas Chinese medicine in depth, explore more cooperation projects in traditional Chinese medicine, and jointly promote the participation of traditional Chinese medicine in the legal system and system construction of medical and health services in Suriname.
Suriname's Minister of Health, Amma Lamartine, extended a warm welcome to Tian Xingjun and his entourage, and looked forward to visiting China, especially Sichuan. Lamartine said that the Surinamese government is focusing on promoting legislation on traditional medicine, including traditional Chinese medicine, and relevant laws will be introduced in the near future. It is hoped that the two sides can strengthen exchanges and cooperation, jointly promote traditional medicine, medical insurance and other related work, and better promote the application of traditional medicine in Suriname.
