Most of the surviving ancient buildings from the 16th to the 18th century, mixed and blended Dutch, German, French and later American influences, resulting in his unique character and style. In 1821 and 1832, there were two fires that destroyed some of the buildings.
Part of the inner city of Paramaribo, the Mirandastraat 10 building was destroyed by fire in 2015. The renovation started in 2022 and after more than a year, the renovation work was completed. Below is a comparison chart.
