Liao Family Villa (Former Residence of Lin Yutang)
From the Ma John Memorial Square (the site of the former Xingxian Palace) into Zhangzhou Road, there are two veranda-style buildings built in the late 1880s in a deep alley on the north side of the road. One building sits on an east-to-west, high pedestal; the other sits north-facing south, with a plaque with the inscription "Liren Zhai" embedded in the upper part of the entrance.

The appearance and plan of both buildings have remained basically unchanged, and have not undergone large-scale renovation except for some additional construction. A square courtyard is formed between the two buildings, and the two camphor trees in the courtyard shade the ground, and the environment is elegant and quiet. This is the residence of Liao Yuefa, a Fujian overseas Chinese industrialist, known locally as the Liao Family Villa.
The villa's most famous user is Lin Yutang, a famous modern Chinese writer, who married his wife Liao Cuifeng (Liao Yuefa's second daughter) in the first room on the right side of the entrance to the second floor of the west-facing building after their marriage in 1919.

Sea Paradise was built between 1920 and 1930 by Filipino overseas Chinese Huang Xiuxiu and Huang Nianyi. Ronggu Villa (Former Residence of Li Qingquan)
Ronggu Villa, known as the "King of Gulangyu Villa", was built in 1926 by Mr. Li Qingquan, an overseas Chinese in the Philippines, and is currently located in the old villas on Gulangyu Island, most of which have been transformed. Shuzhuang Garden (Lin Erjia's Former Residence)

At the age of 6, he held a public performance at Trinity Hall in Gulangyu Island, and at the age of 8, he went to the Shanghai Conservatory of Music to study piano. Yiyuan (Former Residence of Lin Henian)
Yiyuan, located at No. 24 Fujian Road, Gulangyu Island, was built in about 1896, which is a two-storey qingshui red brick villa, surrounded by various villas built by overseas Chinese, and the living environment is quiet and elegant, which is very ideal.
Yiyuan Villa adopts the Western European arch inner corridor, with the form of a tide barrier layer, and takes the axial symmetrical layout of the two-compartment clip and one hall commonly used in minnan houses, so that the family can live in harmony and be friendly and warm. The columns are square columns of red brick, and the inner courtyard of the nave is connected to the inner gallery. The two turtle front compartments are hexagonal in order to absorb more air and sunlight.
