Recently, the Supreme Court of British Columbia released information on an ongoing Chinese case: in a child support lawsuit for a Chinese couple living in Vancouver, the couple revealed each other's secrets about child support. And the fact that the two of them have a high income, but they receive 1.7w knife milk gold every year has also been publicized and sparked heated discussions.

C is a mother of three in West Vancouver, and she receives more than 1.7w of "milk gold" every year. At the same time, she received temporary child support for her children and spouse from her high-income ex-husband living in China.

During the lawsuit, the mother was kicked out by her ex-husband and her living standard was quite high, such as the house she lived in was worth 840w dollars, the furniture was worth 50w dollars, and the annual expenses spent on her children were as much as 32w dollars, including hiring nannies and drivers, children attending private schools, violin lessons and language classes, etc. She was found by the judge to have an annual income of $66,476 and received $17,564.42 in milk gold.

On December 14, the British Columbia Supreme Court, Judge Kimberley Robertson announced that businessman C was required to pay $16,062 in child support to his ex-wife, former music teacher Z. C will also provide the spouse with corresponding monthly alimony financial support according to his annual income of nearly 100w according to the law.

This alimony will be used to meet a certain high standard of living.

The couple got into a dispute over their respective incomes over alimony, and ended up in a court plot.

According to the B.C. Supreme Court and Nsnews, the couple married in China in 2008 and legally separated from March 2019 to March 2020. They have three children, now aged 8, 10 and 12. 52-year-old C also has an older child, 20 years old, who lives with 42-year-old Z. The child attends UBC University.

It is reported that C is the CEO of an engineering company in Shanghai and holds shares in several other companies. C also owns as many as 61 properties in China, which are currently recognized as joint property of husband and wife.

C has stated in court in both B.C. and China that his assets are between 7,000w and 9,000w knives. However, his latest financial statements filed with the B.C. Provincial Court show that his assets are $4,100w. C's explanation was that COVID "had a huge impact on China's construction industry and therefore on his business interests".

According to the information submitted by C, his annual income is $15.5w, while Z is estimated to be close to $240w, which is mainly based on the findings of the Chinese court in 2015, and his rental income reached $440w.

Z described her ex-husband as a person with "a lot of assets". Judge Robertson found that C's annual income was $100w.

At the same time, C argued that Z's income should be $20w, while Z argued that she only received $11,240 in investment income and $55,235 in rental income in 2022, with an annual income of only $66,476. In addition, Z also received $17,564.42 in child benefits (milk gold) from the Canadian government. In fact, milk payments are paid out on the basis of income. The lower the income, the higher the amount of money you can receive. A family with three children can get up to $18,825, or $6,275 per child.

Judge Robertson found that Z earned $20w a year and pointed out that she could earn an income as a music teacher in B.C.

Judge Robertson said: "I agree that there is no reason why Plaintiff (Z) cannot work outside the home, especially if a nanny is hired. "Court records show that Z is a talented musician who worked as an organ teacher at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music and earns about $20w a year as a music teacher, including tutors.

Until March 2023, Z and his children were living at their home in West Vancouver where they purchased a local property on August 10, 2017 for $840w.

Before Z and their children came to Canada from the United States, the couple left their house vacant for a year. In 2016, Z went to the United States for the first time after leaving C.

It is reported that the house has a beautiful view and overlooks English Bay from the nearby Cypress Mountain. The down payment also costs 420w dollars. The villa was recently sold for $680w, of which $270w was put into a common trust. It is unclear where the family lives now.

Z's claim lists the following children's expenses: three children attending private schools for up to $79,329, $32w per year for Chinese, math, logic, French, English, writing, science, piano, violin, cello, painting, choir, orchestra, table tennis training, swimming training, and tennis, among others.

Z also claims to take the kids on vacation three to four times a year, spending about $135255 per year.

C argued in court that "many of these activities were unnecessary, and Claimant (Z) preferred to unilaterally enrol children in school without negotiation." ”

While the exact details of all the extracurricular courses are not known, C listed a number of assets he purchased for Z and the house, which the judge noted supported a luxurious lifestyle, such as furniture worth $50w, a grand piano worth $6w, a Tiffany diamond necklace worth $6w, and a variety of luxury jewelry bags worth more than $23w.

C also listed the cost of insurance for $30w per year and admitted that he had purchased five luxury cars with cash. However, C told the court that the vehicles were for the benefit of another person, such as his eldest son having a Lexus worth 6w for schooling, which was not his property.

The judge noted that C would normally transfer the money to Z's bank account to pay for her and the children's expenses.

According to the judge, C considers himself still a good father and comes to Vancouver to visit his children for about two months each year, mainly during the school's winter and summer breaks.

The lawsuit continues, and the husband and wife's affair with each other is well known, and it has obviously become a farce.

Nearly a tonne of energy drinks are being recalled across Canada

As many as 45 brands of energy drinks are currently being recalled in Canada. According to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA), the CFIA considers these beverages potentially dangerous to consumers due to "caffeine content and labeling issues."

Right now, residents across Canada are being asked not to distribute, sell, consume or otherwise use any of the beverages on the list, including "Toxic Rick", "Liquid Rage", "Fast Twitch" (from Gatorade's manufacturer) and "Cocaine", which many Chinese people drink.

Other drinks include "Fleeb Juice", "Bum Energy", "Bleach T4-F", and packaged drinks with the face of painter Bob Ross from the 80s and 90s, as well as drinks from well-known brands such as Red Bull, Monster, Prime, G Fuel, Bang, 5 Hour Energy, and AriZona, a supplier of iced tea.

The recall comes at a time when the safety of such beverages is under scrutiny — Panera Bread Co. is currently facing a lawsuit over its caffeinated lemonade that allegedly killed two people from heart attacks in the United States.

"The affected product is being recalled from the market due to non-compliance with caffeine content and labeling requirements," the Canadian government said. But other than that, no further details were provided.

In fact, caffeinated energy drinks need to be printed on the cans in both English and French, as well as a mandatory warning statement about the risks of consumption, to "help consumers make informed decisions".

Notably, the CFIA also states that in terms of caffeine content, "the maximum allowable intake in Canada is no more than 180 mg per serving".

Xi friends who are used to drinking energy drinks, please pay special attention.
