The Czech police said on the 22nd that the identities of the 14 victims had been confirmed and that there were no foreigners. The Chinese Embassy in the Czech Republic also confirmed to the reporter of the main station that it had not received any news of casualties among Chinese citizens. The reporter learned that two Chinese students who were studying Xi in this building at the time of the incident were lucky to escape because of a printer failure.

I was about to leave after finishing that thing, but I was almost out the door, and there was a voice upstairs and they quickly called me back. If the printer doesn't have a problem, it may run into it head-on or get involved, and it's scary to think about it.
Hao Rubin, Chinese student: At first, the librarian only said that it was violent, and I thought there might be some fights, but I didn't think it was anything at the time. Later, it wasn't until we saw the news and came out of the building that we saw all the police cars outside, and the police lights were always on, that we realized the seriousness of the problem. Even when we were taken out by the police, we all came out in line with our hands on the shoulders of the people in front of us.
According to Czech media reports, compared with other countries in the European Union, the Czech Republic has relatively lax gun control, and the suspect in this shooting is legally in possession of a variety of firearms, and he is also a student at Charles University, who is very familiar with the building where the incident occurred, so it caused serious casualties. The Czech Interior Ministry said that the gunman was alone and that there was no indication that the shooting was linked to international terrorism, and that the gunman had not yet been identified.
