Tongxiang City, the world's most important glass fiber production base. In recent years, Tongxiang has been focusing on the leading industry of new materials, and actively creating a full-chain development pattern of characteristic new materials represented by high-performance power battery materials, glass fiber and composite materials, differentiated and high-performance chemical fiber. In 2022, the total output value of Tongxiang glass fiber and composite material industry cluster will exceed 30 billion yuan.
Wang Genliang, vice president of the Yangtze River Delta Research Institute, said that focusing on the development needs of Tongxiang's leading industries, Wuzhen Laboratory focuses on the direction of cutting-edge materials, builds a city-wide R&D and innovation system with the layout of "one district and multiple parks", and promotes the extension of Tongxiang's cutting-edge material industry chain, the transformation and upgrading of traditional advantageous industries, the introduction of high-level talents and the cultivation of local industrial talents.
Up to now, Wuzhen Laboratory has accumulated more than 40 transformation and cultivation projects, with a total planned investment of more than 2 billion yuan, and an estimated annual output value of more than 2.5 billion yuan after reaching production.
