After reading the Diamond Sutra, Wu Bing developed a strong interest and yearning for Buddhism. He began to immerse himself in Buddhism, and gradually the idea of becoming a monk gradually rose.
In 2010, Wu Bing came to Puguang Temple in Xiamen and became a monk, with the legal name Daolu.
When he first became a monk, he traveled to other monasteries and experienced the tranquility of his birth. He understood that worldly success does not fill the heart, but rather makes people feel empty.
Over the years, Dao Lu has gradually perfected his Dharma practice. Three years later, Daolu lived in Nantong Fuxian Temple for a long time and began a stable spiritual life.
During his time in Nantong, Daolu served as the temple's guest teacher. This is the monk who specializes in receiving pilgrims and answering their requests for help. At first, Doroku's life was very peaceful, until one day, an accident broke his stable state of mind and made a major change in the trajectory of his life.
Zhike's work has allowed Daolu to come into contact with countless people who have come to the temple to pray or ask for help. Late that night, a pregnant woman with a bulging belly approached Daolu.
She begged Doroku to help with the baby, because the next day she was going to the hospital for an abortion.
The pregnant woman was still very young, came from a poor family, her parents died young, and she broke up with her irresponsible boyfriend. She has no future and can't afford to raise this child.
Daolu advised her to think twice, but the woman was desperate.
This incident deeply touched Daolu. He checked the tablets in the temple and found that most of the records on them were babies who died of abortion. How deplorable it is that a life is cut short in desperation.
Daolu is determined to help more women in the same predicament.
Using the wealth he had accumulated in his business, Doroku posted information on the Internet saying that he could help. Soon, he was contacted by hundreds of pregnant women who wanted to have an abortion.
Daolu began to appear in the hospital frequently, accompanied them for prenatal check-ups and delivery, and said that he would take care of their children on their behalf, including related medical expenses.
A monk who had been ordained and ordained went in and out of the maternity ward all day, which was an extremely shocking act at the time. Daolu was soon met with various suspicions from the outside world, some said he was a fake monk, and some said he was cheating.
The hospital also blacklisted Daolu for violating the rules.
In the face of external pressure, the abbot of the temple came to question him, saying that this behavior would damage the reputation of Buddhism. The abbot advised Daolu to stay away from women and concentrate on his cultivation, but Daolu thought that he was doing something very meaningful.
In the end, under the offensive of public opinion, Daolu was still expelled from the Sangha by Fuxian Temple.
After being expelled, Doroku was not discouraged, he found a long-abandoned temple, reorganized it, and named it "Wanzenji Temple". Here, Daolu founded the "Nursing Courtyard" and began to take in those babies who were abandoned by their relatives.
At first, Daolu only adopted a dozen children, and the situation was not too difficult. But later, more and more children were rescued, and the cost of milk powder and diapers alone stretched Daolu to the limit.
He had to sell the house he had left for his daughter to make room for more children in need.
These innocent and lovely children all affectionately call Daolu "Dad". Watching them grow up happily under his care, Daolu felt that the hard work was worth it.
He always reminded himself that he should be grateful for the choice of these children to come to him, so that he can have the opportunity to give back and save.
Among the first batch of children rescued by Daolu was a boy named Xuanxuan. He has a lively and cheerful personality and is deeply loved by Daolu. When he was 5 years old, Xuanxuan's mother suddenly changed her mind and came to the nursing home to pick him up.
