Uranus is the seventh farthest planet from the Sun and the third largest planet in the solar system in terms of diameter. In terms of planetary classification, it belongs to the same type of ice giant as Neptune on the outside, which is different from the terrestrial planets represented by Earth and the gas giant represented by Jupiter. However, both ice giants are too far apart to be mysterious.

NASA used the Webb telescope to observe Uranus again, taking a wide-field image. The Milky Way stars and other galaxies can be seen in the background, the most conspicuous of which are the rings and moons of Uranus. Astronomers have discovered 27 moons, nine of which are in the image, and Uranus' polar crown is expected to become more pronounced in 2028.
