Recently, members of the US think tank have put forward forward-looking views to relevant departments, and they believe that it is necessary to prepare in advance based on the possibility of the mainland eventually taking control of the Taiwan region. TSMC does provide a critical supply of chips to many industries around the world.
TSMC plays a pivotal role in the global semiconductor industry, especially in its supply of chips to the United States, which is enough to show its importance to the global market. Therefore, in the face of potential Chinese mainland's control of Taiwan, once TSMC falls into the hands of the mainland, its impact is global. From the point of view of the United States, such a risk is unacceptable.
For this reason, some members of US think tanks have proposed a strategy of destroying TSMC instead of bluntly destroying TSMC, advocating the use of remote control means to paralyze TSMC, the purpose of which is without exception, to ensure that this strategic asset will not be seized by Chinese mainland. In the eyes of many Americans, TSMC is like an asset of the United States, ignoring the fact that it essentially belongs to the Taiwan region. This recurring proposal must be carefully and fully considered, especially when we consider TSMC's leadership in advanced chip process technologies, from 1.5nm to 7nm.
Most of the core technologies and patents of global chip manufacturing are in the hands of the United States, while key technologies and chemicals are scattered in many countries and regions, including Japan and South Korea. Taiwan plays an integral role in this global supply chain, especially for foundries like TSMC, as well as companies like Hanxiang and Yaxiang. TSMC has attracted much attention because of its world-leading position and technical strength, but the core of chip manufacturing is not only in these companies, but also in the core engineers who have mastered thousands of process steps. There are about 20,000 of these core technicians in Taiwan, and their knowledge and experience are the key to the entire process operation.
Therefore, the proposed method of destroying or paralyzing TSMC is actually a misunderstanding and unfair intimidation of Taiwan, a technological powerhouse, ignoring its core competitiveness. If the goal is to disrupt TSMC's manufacturing capacity, choosing which factory to attack isn't really critical. TSMC's real core competitiveness lies in its talent team, not just equipment or technology. Let's face the reality of the arguments made by US think tanks, which may be driven in part by the cost of reporting. These think tanks often disseminate predictions, such as the risks that Taiwan faces in the future, as well as tensions in cross-strait relations, and even assert that the Taiwan region will not be able to last more than 48 hours in the conflict. Behind these remarks are often accompanied by huge economic demands for the Taiwan region, which demand billions of dollars in investment in exchange for US "aid" in the name of protection money. This is undoubtedly a disguised blackmail based on intimidation.
At the same time, we have also seen the positive results achieved by the public opinion representatives of the Kuomintang legislature, led by Fu Laiqing, during their visit to Beijing. Cross-strait relations have shown an unprecedented trend of peace, and in this general environment, the tense atmosphere created by US think tanks seems to be incompatible with the current situation of cross-strait peace. This practice is a false statement created to cater to the policies of the United States Government or to the interests of certain groups. Although the United States seems to be full of confidence, in fact it does not have sufficient confidence, so it seeks to use the Taiwan region to achieve its goals, and will do whatever it takes.
The collusion between some figures in the US think tank and the complex interest groups behind it has forced TSMC's leadership to make compliant political donations in an attempt to calm the situation. From TSMC's founder Zhang Zhongmou to today's leadership team, everyone is deeply troubled by this repeated use. This wanton intimidation and intimidation by US think tanks to seek the interests of certain groups not only poses a threat to the stability of the Taiwan region, but also harms TSMC, other organizations and ordinary people. The various means used by the United States to solicit funds and resources from the Taiwan region are unjust and a heavy burden on the Taiwan region and the taxpayers in the Taiwan region.
