In August 1934, due to Bogu and Li De, the fifth anti-"encirclement and suppression" failed.
This defeat, coupled with the subsequent Battle of Xiangjiang, almost buried the entire family of the Red Army, and the originally good revolutionary situation ushered in a grim turning point, and the Red Army could only choose the Long March.
If there was no Zunyi Conference to set things right, and Chairman Mao returned to military power, the end of the Red Army would be unimaginable.
Although the Red Army finally reached northern Shaanxi and opened a new situation in the Chinese revolution, the losses since the fifth anti-"encirclement and suppression" campaign were indeed enormous.
Not only did a large number of Red Army soldiers die, but also many Red Army family members lost contact with the organization during the Long March.
Even Chairman Mao's son Mao Anhong went to the people.
Speaking of Chairman Mao, although the Long March was victorious, Chairman Mao's family suffered great hardship.
In addition to the loss of his son, Chairman Mao's younger brother Mao Zetan also died because he stayed in Jiangxi to fight guerrillas and covered the retreat of his comrades.
In November 1949, after the founding of the People's Republic of China, Mao Zetan's widow He Yi has always been haunted by the loss of Mao Anhong, so she personally went to the south to help Chairman Mao find his son.
Chairman Mao's family's past in Jiangxi
However, he never came back.
After the Autumn Harvest Uprising in 1927, the Workers' and Peasants' Red Army was forced to move to Jinggangshan under the encirclement and suppression of the enemy, where it accumulated strength.
After the Autumn Harvest Uprising, the families of Chairman Mao and his younger brother Mao Zetan were rounded up by the enemy.
Mao Zetan's wife, Zhou Wennan, was detained with her child under the age of a month, and she has not been able to get in touch with Mao Zetan after arriving in Jinggangshan.
In April 1928, the "Vermilion Red Army" met in Jinggangshan, and Mao Zetan was already the party representative of the special service battalion of the 12th Division of the Red Fourth Army.
In a battle, Mao Zetan was unfortunately wounded, so he had to stay in Donggu to recuperate.
Chairman Mao, who was relieved, left his aunt He Yi to take care of Mao Zetan.
In order to be able to hide their identities, He Yi and Mao Zetan pretended to be husband and wife at that time.
And after Mao Zetan recovered from his injuries, they continued to fight guerrillas together in the Donggu area.
After going back and forth, the two gradually developed feelings. It's just that Mao Ze and Tan Shang couldn't rest assured that Zhou Wennan, who was arrested in Hunan, could only hide the emotions between him and He Yi in his heart.
He Yi didn't know that Mao Zetan had the same idea as himself, so after completing the task of taking care of Mao Zetan, he married Liu Shiqi, the secretary of southwest Jiangxi at that time, under the persuasion of his parents.
Later, Liu Shiqi was not only dismissed from his position, but also sent to Shanghai to "study Xi".
Liu Shiqi was martyred, and of course He Yi was also implicated and suspended.
Before leaving for Shanghai, Liu Shiqi didn't know whether his trip was a blessing or a curse, so he took the initiative to file for divorce from He Yi.
After divorcing Liu Shiqi, He Yi was also reinstated, and served as a member of the Yongjitai Special Committee after the second victory against "encirclement and suppression".
Coincidentally, at this time, Mao Zetan was also transferred to the place to serve as the secretary of the Yongji Tai Special Committee.
In 1931, the two met again because of work, and they could no longer suppress the emotions in their hearts, so they soon confirmed their relationship and got married.
At that time, Chairman Mao's three brothers and their families were all working together on the revolution, taking care of each other, and although life was a little harder, they were also happy. He Yi is not only Chairman Mao's aunt, but also his brother-in-law.
Part never to meet again
At that time, the good times did not last long, and after defeating the Kuomintang's four encirclement and suppression in succession, Bogu and Li De were ushered in during the fifth anti-"encirclement and suppression".
The two did not understand military affairs and copied the so-called "Soviet experience". Ignoring the actual situation of the Chinese revolution, Li De led the Red Army to confront the enemy, and in this way, in the fifth anti-"encirclement and suppression" campaign, the Red Army suffered huge losses. And during this period, Chairman Mao also lost his military command due to being excluded.
In August 1934, due to the harm caused by the failure of the fifth anti-"encirclement and suppression", the Red Army could only lead its troops to break through and transfer.
Before the breakout and transfer, Mao Zemin, then the "president of the National Bank", and his wife Qian Xijun came to their parents' house in the lower temple of Ruijin Pagoda to say goodbye to their eldest brother, sister-in-law, younger brother, and younger brother-in-law.
And on this day, Chairman Mao also rushed back from Yudu.
After discussion, the family decided to let his younger brother Mao Zetan and his sister-in-law He Yi stay in the Soviet area to fight guerrillas.
When discussing Mao Anhong, the child of Chairman Mao and He Zizhen, Chairman Mao thought for a long time, and finally made up his mind to say to He Zizhen: "Mao Mao will be left to Ze Tan and He Yi to take care of!"
He Zizhen knew that this was the critical period for the transfer of the team, although there were 10,000 reluctances in her heart as a mother, but in order to take care of the overall situation, she had to respond to Chairman Mao's suggestion.
Before leaving, Mao Zemin's wife Qian Xijun left Mao Mao a jacket and a bag of sugar, and looked at his little nephew with teary eyes.
But Chairman Mao turned his back and left without looking back.
Chairman Mao's son, Mao Anhong, has not had many good lives since he was born.
Being in the home of a revolutionary is destined to endure the suffering that many people who do not belong to this age should endure.
Mao Anhong, who was born in 1932, has been the heart of Chairman Mao and He Zizhen since he was born. Because Chairman Mao and He Zizhen were busy making revolutions at that time, they had little time to take care of the child, so they found a nurse for the child.
The nurse is from Jiangxi and likes to call the child Maomao.
Over time, together with Chairman Mao, He Zizhen and the two uncles and aunts, they all called Mao Anhong by the nickname "Mao Mao".
When she was a child, Mao Anhong was very cute, and every time she saw Chairman Mao, she would call "Dad, Dad" in a childish tone. Because he felt ashamed of his three children who lost contact with Yang Kaihui in Changsha, Chairman Mao poured all his father's love into Mao Anhong.
Every time he saw Mao Anhong calling himself "Dad", Chairman Mao would hold Mao Mao in his arms.
But the heavens did not fulfill people's wishes, and in the end, Mao Anhong and the chairman were inevitably separated. On the day of the transfer of troops, when He Zizhen brought Mao Mao to Mao Zetan and his wife, although he was still young, Mao Anhong also seemed to know that he was going to be separated from his parents, so he called "Dad, Mom" vigorously.
It is hard to imagine how determined Chairman Mao, who loved his children so much, to be so resolute at that time.
After the Red Army broke through and transferred, Mao Zetan also took He Yi to start a new struggle.
In December 1934, Mao Zetan, who was the commander of the independent division of the Red Army, and He Yi, who served as the secretary of the district party committee, received an order for Mao Zetan to take his troops to the Fujian-Jiangxi border.
At that time, He Yi was already pregnant, and after considering He Yi's actual situation, the party organization asked He Yi not to transfer with the army, but to take his parents to Ganzhou to engage in underground work.
In fact, neither the front line nor the rear were safe, and Ganzhou, where He Yi was going to work, had turned from red to white at this time, and had become the center of the Kuomintang's White Terror.
After discussion, the husband and wife felt that they couldn't let Mao Mao take risks with them, so they temporarily fostered Mao Anhong in a local villager's house.
Mao Zetan asked his guards to leave with Maomao, and then came back to meet him after placing Maomao.
However, as soon as the guards went, there was no news, and according to the agreement with the guards, if the situation was dangerous, the other party would be lurking on the spot. So Mao Zetan, who couldn't wait for the guards for a long time, could only transfer first, thinking that he would return to this place to visit when he had the opportunity.
Then Mao Zetan moved He Yi, his father-in-law, and mother-in-law to the Baiezhou Wharf in Huichang County.
Respectively, Mao Zetan and He Yi "held hands and looked at each other with tears in their eyes", and both firmly believed that it would not be long before their families could be reunited.
However, this is only the good expectation of the two after all, and this parting, the two are forever separated.
After the Red Army began the Long March, the year of remaining in the Soviet area and persisting in fighting was very difficult.
He Yi gave birth to He Lucheng (Mao Ancheng) in the mountainous area of southern Gan in January 1935, and then took the infant child to many places in Ganzhou, where he persisted in the party's struggle underground.
On the other side, Mao Zetan led the independent division to wage guerrilla warfare with the enemy everywhere at this time.
On April 25, 1935, the independent division was dispersed, and Mao Zetan fled with his team to the "Honglin" mountain area in Ruijin County.
Mao Zetan, who had been exhausted after several days of shortlisting, took the remaining Red Army soldiers to spend the night in a village called "Huangtiankeng".
However, it was this night that the Red Army was surrounded by Kuomintang regiments.
By the time Mao Zetan and the Red Army soldiers found out in the early morning, it was too late.
In order to preserve the flame of the revolution, Mao Zetan ordered his Red Army soldiers to break through the siege, while he himself held off the enemy on a high ground outside the village.
Mao Zetan was extremely valiant and repelled several enemy attacks with a single machine gun.
But in the end, he was outnumbered and shot to death by the enemy. Mao Zetan was shot in multiple legs and chest, and was only 30 years old when he died.
A few days later, the Red Army soldiers who broke through told Chen Yi the news of Mao Zetan's death, and Chen Yi immediately sent someone to inform He Yi.
When the person who delivered the letter came to He Yi, he said: "There is a matter that Comrade Chen Yi wants me to report to you in person. ”
He Yi, who was sensitive, guessed that Mao Zetan had an accident based on this sentence alone.
The visitor confirmed He Yi's conjecture, and He Yi immediately burst into tears.
He Yi's whereabouts have never been able to let go of "Maomao"
After Mao Zetan's sacrifice, Mao Mao's whereabouts became a mystery.
Because Mao Zetan was afraid that there would be traitors in the team at that time, he didn't tell anyone about Mao Mao's news, and even He Yi didn't know.
Maomao's disappearance has always been a pimple in He Yi's heart.
Especially when I learned that my sister He Zizhen was recuperating in the Soviet Union, she was extremely guilty because of the mental illness caused by the death of her youngest son.
So as long as there is an opportunity, He Yi will do everything possible to inquire about Maomao's news everywhere.
For this matter, Chairman Mao also persuaded He Yi to give up many times.
Chairman Mao felt that in the war-torn era, people helped you raise your children.
Now that the war is over, it's not fair for you to go and get your children back.
But He Yi didn't care about this, and quarreled with Chairman Mao for this.
In November 1949, the People's Republic of China was founded.
So He Yi came to Ji'an, Jiangxi Province again with the troops going south.
This time, He Yi took the initiative to apply to come here to serve as the head of the organization, so that he could have the opportunity to continue to search for Mao Mao's whereabouts.
However, after many years, Ji'an has also undergone several changes, and many people who knew each other back then are no longer there.
After experiencing the Kuomintang's White Terror, the mass base here was seriously damaged, and many of the old comrades in the base areas had either gone elsewhere or had already died.
I searched for more than half a month like looking for a needle in a haystack, but there was never any news about Maomao.
On November 21, 1949, after finding Mao Mao's whereabouts, He Yi had no choice but to return.
Unexpectedly, there was an accident on the road.
When she set off that day, He Yi faintly felt that something was wrong.
On the same day, He Yi's driver asked him if Taiwan could stay overnight in Taihe and then hurry.
He Yi thought that he had been out for many days and had a lot of work to do, so he asked the driver to rush back to Ji'an overnight.
There is not much distance from Taihe to Ji'an, even when the founding of the People's Republic of China was just two or three hours away, but in these two or three hours, an accident occurred.
That night, in the middle of the night, villagers not far from Ji'an heard a loud bang.
When the villagers came out to check, they saw a jeep overturned in a ditch on the side of the road.
After the accident, the villagers sent the people in the jeep to seek medical treatment overnight, but He Yi did not survive and died in the accident.
According to the recollection of the staff in the same car, just before the accident, He Yi noticed a fire on a nearby mountain.
He Yi thought that it might be bandits or Kuomintang agents preparing to ambush, so he asked the driver to stop immediately and prepare to get out of the car to check the situation.
Unexpectedly, the driver not only did not obey He Yi's order, but also accelerated forward with one foot on the accelerator, and finally the car fell off the cliff and fell next to the ditch at the foot of the mountain.
And by the time the people came to the rescue, the driver was gone.
After the accident, an investigation was conducted and it was believed that it was an accident.
But everyone present that day thought it was a spies or bandits. However, due to the inconclusive investigation, it can only be treated as an accident in the end.
Did "Mao Mao" find it later?
After He Yi's death, he was buried in the martyr's tomb of Tianhua Mountain in Ji'an City.
Since then, Mao Anhong's whereabouts have become a mystery after all.
In 1953, at the request of He Zizhen, the governor of Jiangxi Province set up a working group to help him find Mao Anhong's whereabouts.
After visiting many places, I found a young man named Zhu Daolai.
According to Zhu Daolai's adoptive parents, the time when he was adopted was consistent with Mao Anhong's age at that time, so he reported it to He Zizhen.
After the blood type matching, Zhu Daolai matched He Zizhen's blood type, so he preliminarily identified him as Mao Anhong.
After seeing Zhu Daolai's photo, He Zizhen thought that this was his child and sent the photo to Chairman Mao. And Chairman Mao also said that this child is quite like his younger brother "Mao Zetan".
Just when He Zizhen was about to recognize his son, Zhu Yueqian, the wife of an old Red Army, wrote to Chairman Mao and said that Zhu Daolai was his child.
finally found the child, of course He Zizhen was unwilling to give it to others. Whether it's or not, it's your own thoughts.
In the end, the two sides argued, and Chairman Mao made a decision.
Chairman Mao said: "No matter whose child it is, it is the child of a revolutionary, and it should be raised by the party and the people!"
So later, under the arrangement of Chairman Mao, Zhu Dao came to Beijing to study, neither with Zhu Yueqian nor with He Zizhen.
Later, Zhu Daolai was admitted to Peking University, and after graduation, he did scientific research in a national defense unit in Nanjing.
But unfortunately, in the end, Zhu Daolai died of illness in Nanjing in 1971.
