Since November 2017, the customs authorities of China and Australia have officially signed the Arrangement between the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China and the Australian Immigration and Border Protection Agency and the Border Enforcement Agency on the Mutual Recognition of the Enterprise Credit Management System of China Customs and the Australian Honest Trader Scheme:
It will be officially implemented from December 14, 2023!
After the implementation of mutual recognition, China and Australia will recognise each other's "Authorized Economic Operator" (AEO) to facilitate customs clearance for goods imported from each other's AEO enterprises.
The following customs clearance facilitation measures will be granted to AEO enterprises of both sides:
- Speed up customs clearance by reducing document review and physical goods inspection;
- Priority inspection will be given to goods that need to be physically inspected;
- Consideration is given to AEO enterprise qualifications when conducting risk assessments;
- Designated customs liaison officer to be responsible for communicating and dealing with the problems encountered by AEO enterprises in customs clearance;
- Committed to providing expedited customs clearance after international trade is disrupted and resumed.
This time, after China and Australia opened AEO mutual recognition,
Trade relations will be one step closer!
From January to October this year, the trade volume between China and Australia reached US$189.88 billion, a year-on-year increase of 4%, of which China's imports from Australia increased by 8.4% year-on-year.
After this certification agreement comes into effect, it will be more convenient for China and Australia to import and export goods in the future, and both sides will be mutually beneficial, and the future can be expected!
As trade between China and Australia continues to recover, China lifted restrictions on three Australian slaughterhouses this week.
It was suspended from trade by China in 2020
Three slaughterhouses have been allowed to resume!

For the first time in three years, Australian barley arrives in China
WA farmers are happy!
Australian barley has returned to the Chinese market for the first time in more than three years since the removal of Australian barley tariffs in August, according to the latest data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics:
China is Australia's October feed barley
A destination with 76% of export volume!
In October, feed barley exports totaled 540,251 tonnes and malting barley exports totalled 213,531 tonnes.
In terms of malt production, China was also the largest buyer, with 123,878 tonnes purchased.
Sam Roache, manager of Flexi Grain: Australia's feed barley exports "exploded" in October, and now there are still some restrictions on the total tonnage of transportation, and many port areas are short of stocks.
And according to forecasts, shipments in January next year will be about 500,000 tons, excluding containers.
The re-entry of Australian barley into the Chinese market is a win-win for both the Australian grain industry and Chinese consumers.
This year, WA farmers don't have to worry about food sales, and most of the orders from China alone are directly accounted for.
