Famous revolutionary martyr of Suide County, northern Shaanxi - Ma Yulin

Ma Yulin (1913-1934), a native of Liangjiajia Village, Majiachuan Township, Suide County, Shaanxi Province. He is the backbone member of the base area of Yihe East District of Suide County, and also the most heroic sacrifice among the more than 1,400 revolutionary martyrs in Suide County.

　　Ma Yulin attended a private school as a child, accepted revolutionary ideas under the guidance of his cousin Ma Nanfeng, joined the Chinese Communist Party in 1931, and served as the first party branch secretary of Liangjiajia Village. He successively served as a traffic officer of the Eastern District Party, the secretary of the Eastern District Youth League Committee, a soldier of the Red Twenty-eighth Army, and an economist of the Twelfth Detachment of the Northern Shaanxi Guerrilla Of the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army. In the spring of 1934, the organization sent him to Shanxi to buy 0 for the district committee and the guerrillas, and was arrested by the Kuomintang during a weapons shipment due to betrayal by traitors. After his arrest, Ma Yulin was taken back to Yihe, where he was tortured, hung, burned with muskets and other cruel corporal punishments by the enemy, but he showed the revolutionary spirit of proletarian fearlessness, faced the murderous enemy, was heroic and indomitable, withstood cruel torture, never leaked a single secret, did not betray a comrade, and protected the revolutionary organization. The enemy, who had no choice but to do so, had to make the decision to kill him.

　　On the ninth day of the ninth lunar month in 1934, Li Wenwei, commander of the Kuomintang 86th Division stationed in Yihe, killed Ma Yulin. On that day, coinciding with the Yihe Market, Ma Yulin was tied up by the enemy and pushed out of the Seven Buddhas Hall of the West Gate of Yihe and escorted to Dongmen Beach. When crossing Yihe Avenue, Ma Yulin was naked, shouting revolutionary slogans all the way and scolding the Kuomintang reactionaries. When the enemy escorted Ma Yulin to Yihe Middle Street, Ma Yulin, in order to propagate revolutionary ideas and prevent the enemy from playing conspiracies, suddenly sat on the ground and did not leave, and offered to eat pig's ear meat. Ma Yulin took this opportunity to shout to the comrades watching: "Folks! The enemy wants to kill me today, don't be afraid, the Chinese revolution will eventually succeed, and the enemy will eventually fail! When the enemy saw it, he dragged him with a gun, and without any fear, he simply shouted: "Communists and Communist Youth League members cannot be killed!" As soon as the enemy saw that the situation was not good, he dragged Ma Yulin and left, and Ma Yulin simply lay on the ground, his eyes closed, motionless... The enemy had no choice but to give him pig's ear meat to eat. When Ma Yulin arrived at the execution ground, he shouted revolutionary slogans, jumped up and cursed the Kuomintang reactionaries, and the executioner shouted and knelt down, saying that Lao Tzu had rebelled and stood up for righteousness. The enemy brutally slashed several knives in a row, dug out the heart and liver, and hung the head of the person in the Yihe City Tower, Ma Yulin preferred to die unyieldingly, and the awe-inspiring atmosphere of heroism and righteousness made the witnesses shed tears of admiration.
