Former Qin Huiwu Emperor was named Gong Hong, the son of Pu Huaigui, the chief of the Qi clan, and the founder of the Former Qin Dynasty. Taking advantage of the chaos in the world after the rebellion of the Eight Kings of the Western Jin Dynasty, he established himself as king and created the foundation of the Former Qin regime.

Gong Hong, born in 285 AD, the character Guangshi, originally surnamed Pu, Liuyang Linwei (present-day Longcheng Town, Qin'an County) of the Yu people. When Gong Hong was born, it was raining heavily for days, and the people were miserable, so someone wrote a song: "If the rain does not stop, the flood will rise." So his family named him "Hong." The Family has been the chief of Sai Rong for generations, so The Family has also been deeply influenced by the family environment. When he became an adult, he was not only skilled in riding and shooting kung fu, but also had a bold temperament, and his clan respected and loved him. During the reign of Sima Chi, the Emperor of JinHuai (306-312 AD), the Western Jin Dynasty had just experienced the Rebellion of the Eight Kings, and the whole country was in chaos. Xiang Hong thought that this was an opportunity to do great things, so he used heavy money to recruit a group of heroes Haojie, and recruited troops, and he soon became a warlord who divided the side.

Gong Hong was embraced by everyone as an ally, but he was a nominal ally, and the highest power was held by his clans pu guang, Pu Tu and others. Later, liu Yao, a great general of the Xiongnu Han Dynasty, moved the capital to Chang'an and established the Former Zhao regime, and Cang Hong, unable to be excluded by Pu Guang, Pu Tu and others, went to defect to Liu Yao, and was made the Marquis of Yiyi by Liu Yao. In 329, Liu Yao was killed by Later Zhao Shihu, and Gong Hong had no backing, so he had to run to Longshan with some of his men and horses. The terrain of Longshan is dangerous, but it is not safe. In 333, Shi Hu prepared to attack Gonghong. Knowing that he was not Shi Hu's opponent, He took the initiative to surrender to Shi Hu with 20,000 residents. Shi Hu became a winner before he could make a shot, and naturally he was very happy, so he named him the champion general, which was very important to him. After XiangHong followed Shi Hu to Chang'an, he suggested to him that 100,000 households of the Qin, Yong, Qi, and Qiang tribes should be moved to the Kanto to enrich the eastern region. Shi Hu agreed, and appointed Gong Hong as the governor of the displaced people, specifically managing the newly relocated residents.

Gong Hong was very talented, and he made many military achievements, and was made the Duke of Xiping County by Shi Hu. More than 2,000 of his subordinates were also given the title of Marquis of Guannei, and Gong Hong was their consul general, and his power gradually expanded. Shi Hu's adopted grandson Ran Min was an ambitious man with great military achievements, and when he saw that Zhi Hong was very powerful, he persuaded Shi Hu to get rid of Zhi Hong. However, Shi Hu trusted Gong Hong very much and did not agree. After Shi Hu's death, his son Shi Zun became emperor, and Gong Hong continued to occupy a high position. Unexpectedly, not long after, Shi Zun, at the instigation of Ran Min, deposed him from the post of governor of the exiles. Xiang Hong was a wise man, and when he saw that he was dismissed from his post, he knew that Hou Zhao could no longer tolerate himself. Therefore, he quickly broke away from Shi Zun and went to the Eastern Jin Dynasty Mu Emperor Sima Tan. The Eastern Jin Dynasty was partial to the south of the Anjiang River, and the north was the territory of the Hu people, and Sima Hong's surrender naturally made Sima Tan overjoyed. In the sixth year of Yonghe (350 AD), Sima Rong was made the Grand General of the Northern Expedition, the Assassin of Jizhou, and the Duke of Guangchuan County.

After these several defections, HeHong already had 100,000 men under his command. His strength is getting stronger and stronger, his official position is getting higher and higher, and his ambitions are naturally greater. He was soon dissatisfied with Sima Tan's knighthood, and just as some of his men advised him to claim the title of king, Gong Hong took advantage of the situation in February 350 and proclaimed himself the Great General, Da Dan Yu, and the King of Three Qin.

When He hong was crowned queen, his heart was even higher, and he was ambitiously planning to do something big. Unexpectedly, Shi Hu's old subordinate, Ma Qiu, the military master of Xiang Hong, was also very ambitious, and in order to seize power, he killed Zhi Hong with poisonous wine. At the age of 66, before his death, he passed the throne to his son Jian Jian, hoping that he would fulfill his wish to seize Guanzhong. Jian Jian called himself empress dowager, and posthumously honored Him as "Emperor Huiwu". Although Gong Hong reigned for less than 1 year, he struggled for many years and laid a good foundation for Former Qin.
