Bayern vs Union Berlin is expected to start: Kim Min-jae, Choupo-Moting are back in full blood, and Laimer is a guest at right-back
In the 13th round of the 2023/24 Bundesliga season, Bayern Munich will host Union Berlin. Kim Min-jae, Musiala, Choupo-Moting and Mazraoui will all return from injury, and manager Thomas Tuchel will also have more space in the line-up.
Thomas Tuchel
Bayern drew 0-0 with FC Copenhagen in the Champions League group stage midweek. With Kim Min-jae and Mazraoui absent, Tuchel made fellow midfielders Goretzka and Laimer cameo at centre-back and right-back respectively. Kim Min-jae and Mazraoui are both available for the weekend against Union Berlin, but given United's sharp attack on the left, Tuchel will continue to play for Laimer at right-back, while Goretzka will return to a central midfield role.
Musiala
In central midfield, Kimmich, Koeman, Leroy Sane and Kane are all very solid, but there are disagreements on the Bundesliga's official website, Bild and Kicker over the starting XI for the 'number 10'. As things stand, Tuchel is leaning towards starting Choupo-Moting, with Musiala, who has just returned from injury, on the bench.
Union Berlin boss Bjelica will make his Bundesliga debut, and after taking office, the Croatian coach changed the formation from 3-4-3 to 4-1-4-1, with more emphasis on fighting and running in the midfield.
