Inspired by the spectacular view of Mont Blanc, Montblanc presents two new Star Midnight Blue Limited Editions, each limited to 800 pieces worldwide, featuring a deep midnight blue dial and the brand's signature hexagonal white star guilloché motif.
Dating back to the origins of the brand, Montblanc was founded in 1906 and its name is derived from Mont-Blanc, the highest peak in the Alps and the highest peak in Western Europe. Straddling Switzerland, France and Italy, Mont Blanc is a symbol of Montblanc's timeless quest for excellence and craftsmanship.
In 1913, Montblanc created the iconic six-pointed white star logo, inspired by the majestic view of the six glaciers at the summit of Mont Blanc. Inspired by this logo, Montblanc launched its first Star collection in 1997. Today, the brand has gone back to its roots with the iconic six-pointed white star logo to give a unique touch to the new Montblanc Star Midnight Blue Limited Edition. The two new timepieces feature a deep midnight blue dial with a sunburst six-pointed white star guilloché motif that brings to life the spectacular view of Mont Blanc.
Engraving process
Guilloché is an elegant and delicate decorative technique that dates back to the 16th century until it was introduced to watchmaking in the 18th century. This traditional hand-engraved art requires the skill and experience of artisans to carve intricate patterns on metal surfaces with the help of rose lathes, mainly in the field of fine watchmaking. Today, Montblanc recreates this timeless art of deco through a special embossing process, which gives the timepieces a distinctive and timeless character on the dials of the new Star watches with a delicate and vivid guilloché motif of a six-pointed white star guilloché.
A model of aesthetic design
Inspired by Minerva pocket watches from the late 19th and early 20th centuries, the new Montblanc Star Midnight Blue Limited Edition recreates the collection's classic aesthetic with a polished pebbled case and onion-shaped crown. The Montblanc six-pointed white star logo on the crown and the sword-shaped rose gold-plated hands with luminescent coating make the new Montblanc Star Midnight Blue Limited Edition even more unique.
