In 2024, Seiko has been steadily renewing its Prospex Diver collection, as evidenced by the 1968 Diver's Reinterpretation and 1965 Revival Diver, which are water-resistant to 300 meters. Today, the brand offers three affordable Prospex SolarDiver 41 mm watches.
Previously, the Solar Diver was available in 42.79 mm and 38.5 mm versions. With a diameter of 41 mm and a thickness of 11.3 mm, the new watch sits right somewhere in between, meeting the standards of readability and water resistance for divers' watches, as well as fitting into a wider range of wrist sizes. The case is made of stainless steel and is water-resistant to 200 meters.
The new model is available in three different variants: a stainless steel case with a blue dial and a two-tone red and blue bezel (SNE595); Stainless steel case with black dial and black bezel (SNE597); Black coated stainless steel case with black dial and black bezel and black coated stainless steel bracelet (SNE599).
The 15-minute scale before the bezel is eye-catching and easy to read and can be used to count down dives. The large hands and indexes are filled with Lumibrite luminescent material to ensure excellent legibility even in the dark underwater. There is also a date window at the 3 o'clock position.
The new watches are powered by the V157 quartz movement, which draws energy from the light that hits the dial, and has a battery life of up to 10 months on a full charge with an average monthly error of only +/- 15 seconds.
Priced at £470 in stainless steel and £530 in black-coated steel, Seiko's new Prospex Solar Diver 41mm is designed to accompany its owners on their underwater adventures as well as for everyday wear. (Photo/text: Xu Chaoyang, the home of watches)
