Application of geological radar method in airport runway pavement detection

In this paper, the identification ability and response law of diseases such as non-compactness, voiding, and cavity at the bottom of the runway panel of an international airport are analyzed by geological radar. Geological radar can effectively identify diseases such as the hollowing out of the bottom of the runway slab, the hollowing out of the base layer, the undense base layer, and the cavity of the foundation, and can effectively respond to the embedded pipelines under the runway and the indicator lights on the surface. At the same time, for the judgment of the hollowing disease at the bottom of the base layer, there is an obvious difference in the dielectric constant of the radar wave at the interface of the gravel base layer, air and soil foundation. The geological radar detection method has the characteristics of fast, continuous, non-destructive, low cost and high efficiency, which provides an effective means for the quality detection of airport runway panels.
